So we have HCA in the finals? That should be huge.

Nope. GS does by virtue of a better record.

Thank God Jimmy didn't hit the 3 and we got the rebound. Flying High!!!

Guys with tired legs generally don't hit long jumpers late in the game, and Butler was dead tired.
It was also just not a wise move. He's not a particularly good shooter from deep, especially on a pull-up. And it was in transition - probably could have attacked Al for either a foul, a layup or a kickout three.

I respect the shot though. He went for the kill.

wow this game thread isn't quite the celebration I expected.

Very draining series. Glad we have a few days off finally.

Gotta give credit to Spo.  He got the most out of that team for sure. They do a very good job of developing lower-end talent and hiding their weaker defenders in their scheme.  Great defensively despite not having the best personnel.

SAS is destroying smart now

cannot miss those at end

played well all game held lead

double digits

and almost blew it at end

Marcus really needed to take the ball inside on a couple of those plays for a floater or a pass to a shooter.

absoliutely

we desreved the win but far to close thanks to meltdown at end after playing solid all game as a team

and refs hurt us all game also.

felt like david versus goliath

8 on 5

overcame HUGE CORRUPTION AND ADVERSITY
beat heat and leagiue refs

so i will enjoy it
screw them

first east title since 2010

now lets shock the world and upset kid curry

Roger that!

LET'S GO CELTICS!

agreed, I respect his desire to go for the kill and with the way he was going tonight, I fully expected that to go in

What did everyone think of Butler's shot? I'm soooo glad that he took that. Thought it was going for the "homerun" when he needed a base hit more than anything.

not a fan of Tatum wearing the Kobe arm band.  needs to learn what franchise he plays for
Would it be different if the arm band was black and not purple?
should have been Celtic Green and had any number of one of the greats we lost this season.  I know he did it for motivation but can't imagine it would have been well received in the Garden.   new generation I guess that follows the individual rather than the franchise

He plays for the Celtics and is the face of the franchise. If he wants to draw inspiration from his childhood idol, who cares?

Some of you are really hyper focusing on weird things after we win a huge game 7 on the road.

whew. i could not stand that game. that was too much stress for me. but, they won. terrible last few minutes with smart taking too many shots.

but a win, another game 7 win.

whew whew whew.....great if stressful, but more great than stressful.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

MVP should be whoever took away the Strus 3 well after the fact in the 3rd quarter. We essentially got a cool 4 point FT from Rob. I've seen them turn a 3 into a 2, but can't say I've ever seen them take away a basket completely in that manner.

shut it down after a 4 or 5 point run

what was it?

a 9 point run they went on late?

u simply cannot allow that.

All the C's needed was a stop or a score for about 4 possessions each way.   Couldn't get it done on either end... and offensively really had good opportunities.

My heart stopped for a second.  Then it was clear the shot was going to fall short.  Thankfully we rebounded well tonight and we sealed it.  JB with the tip, and Big Al with 14 rebs overall.
