I HAVE LITERALLY NEVER SEEN A BIGGER IDIOT THAN MARCUS F***ING SMART IN MY LIFE. WHY THE F*** ARE WE LETTING HIM p--- THIS Edited for profanity.  Please do not do it again. GAME AWAY IN THE LAST 2 MINUTES

Yet his FTs seal the game calm down
No, that was just dumb dumb basketball. Any of our guys wouldve hit those free throws. He missed swing passes to Jaylen in the corner twice and 2 times he couldve drove in for easy mid range or floater and the one time he actually drove the ball he threw up the most wild contested attempt at a layup all game. He wanted so bad to be the hero that he almost blew it for us. Am I happy with the outcome? Abso-freaking-lutely! But that was some boneheaded basketball at the end. We gotta be better than that!

if we had JB or JT open that is who should be shooting at the end unless we are driving

i will have to watch reply on DVR

that is troubling if he missed JB on a corner three

JB sinks that

we didn’t need a three. in crunch time in the payoffs, you play to your strengths within the context of the game.

marcus is excellent at dribble penetration and finishing in the paint, especially against a smaller heat team. add the fact that the c’s were in the bonus with the lead and less than two minutes in the game. no one should have been shooting threes in that context, particularly someone who doesn’t shoot well behind the arc.

get in the paint and finish, or make your free throws and the game is over without the drama.

good points. i agree. we were good driving all game no reason to stop late

In the Celtics' defense,  i think the refs got in their heads a bit. Not confident they'd get calls if we get mugged around the rim.

Yet.... he stepped up with the go-ahead free throws to seal the game for us. We don't win this series or game without Smart.
Im sorry but you cant reward players who do dumb stuff because of the final outcome. If Jimmy Buckets hits that 3 we are all crapping on smart for his boneheaded 3s. And it was all game. No way we should be happy with him taking the most shots (22) and more importantly the most 3pters (1/3 of our attempts as a team). It was clear miami wanted him to keep bricking and we fell for it and survived by the skin of our teeth. There were opportunities to swing the ball or take a closer shot and he refused.

Dont get it twisted, I still love the dude and yeah we dont win this series without him. But he was almost the mastermind of an epic collapse

Eh, those three threes at the end weren't as bad as people are making them out to be. They were wide open with limited time left on the shot clock.

Smart with an idiotic comment, saying fans "didn't believe in them" earlier in the season and then "jumped back on the bandwagon."

And whose fault is that, Marcus? You guys weren't passing the ball, weren't playing defense,  and were losing to teams fielding multiple gleaguers in the starting lineup.

I mean, he's not wrong. People gave up and wanted to trade really good young players who were learning how to win and lead.

I always believed in the team's potential,  and i never wanted to trade our core. But they were not playing hard or together,  and the general criticism was justified.

Marcus blaming the fans is absurd. Take accountability.

There's no guarantee you'd get a better shot. Better taking a shot than turn the ball over. It wasnt like he was the first option on those plays either.

Yeah i think the Heat and the whole ECF thing was in our heads. Kind of like the Red Sox/Yankees in 2004. Agree this team could come out much better in the Finals than people are predicting.

marcus might be channeling a bit of tom brady, creating internal motivation by conjuring disrespect that needs to be revenged. whatever it takes, marcus…

Sure. I just don't agree with the sentiments though.

Jimmy Butler just gave the highest props to JT. He said JT’s a superstar. He particularly mentioned JT’s passing ability. It’s good to see him gaining the respect of his peers.
