Sounds a little rushed to me, though I'm hardly a doctor.
How many NBA players have come back too soon and either aggravated an injury or made it worse ?
Many have, but the timeline has always been a short one since he came out of the surgery. His recovery has been fast from day 1, I don't think it's necessarily rushing him.

Yes, hopefully ........ and a meniscus is much less serious than a ligament tear - very different injuries.

I don't either.  He was quoted as saying that the pain was gone after surgery which is a really good sign.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
4 weeks from the injury is Game 3 (actually, 27 days). I realize that is not what they meant by the 4-6 week timeline, but the actual surgery wasn't one where they were sewing things back together - it was 'just' a trim - so I'm not sure why the recovery time has to be from the surgery date. Guess we'll see where we are and how Rob is feeling...

Not the Dr Who theme?

A Tardis suddenly appears on the baseline and Rob steps out. "Sorry I'm late. I forgot my wallet."

An ideal scenario would be Williams is upgraded to questionable sometime in the middle of first round, but the C's are dominating the Nets, so they don't rush him back, and the C's win 4-0 anyway.

Then on the other side, the Bucks struggle vs the Bulls with a 7 game series, giving Rob even more time to heal/recover/strengthen before the 2nd round.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of these scenarios are likely, but I can still dream.

Has there been any other update on this, besides the "skipping" video posted the other day?

I'm starting to doubt we will see him at all this series.  And that's okay, I just want him to be fully healthy and not risk serious further injury by returning too early. These playoffs are so intense, you can't go out there and not go 100%, which for Rob means 125%!!

Why?  I haven't seen anything that makes me think he won't be available by Game 6 or so, if the series goes that long.

Me neither.  Just my gut, based upon the fact it was surgery, and that these games are so incredibly intense.  Plus if the team can manage to win series without him, they are more likely to wait longer before throwing back in.

Yeah I think Game 6 is probably a good target. The only exception might be if the Nets win the next 3 and it's 3-1 BKN, then maybe they decide to bring Timelord back by Game 5 even if he's like 80%

Game 6 isn't even for like another 11 days I think so there's time.

I think you gotta bring him back as fast as possible. Nets should not be underestimated.
