I really don't expect the score of the series is going to make any difference on when they bring him back.  Even if we are up say 3-1 and he is ready to go, you want to get him out on the court.  There is going to be a period of time where he is getting back into game shape.  You are not going to put that off if he is ready, no matter what the series is at.  The more games under his belt for the second round, the better.  It doesn't matter if we are up, down, or tied.

Now when that is going to be, I have no idea.  It is impossible for any fan to know.

News remains encouraging when it comes to the status of Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III.

While Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka reiterated Wednesday that there are no plans for Time Lord to return during the team's first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets, he's been partaking in 3-on-3 drills at practice and doing more everyday as he recovers from a torn meniscus suffered on March 27.

"He's getting out there," Udoka said. "It's a comfort level thing with him. The risk is of swelling or something like that coming off of surgery, so it's a little bit of pain tolerance and seeing how his body reacts."

The original timetable for Williams' absence was four to six weeks, the early part of which is fast approaching.

"We're still planning on playing without him, but we're happy with his progress," Udoka said.

Daniel Theis has started the majority of Boston's games in place of Time Lord, including Sunday's Game 1 win over the Nets. Over 20 minutes, Theis had four points on 1 of 6 shooting and six rebounds, picking up four personal fouls.

It would be nice to see the Chicago-Milwaukee series go deep. Give RWIII more to get ramped up.

I'd keep him out until Game 6. But also, it'd be nice if the Bulls could maybe steal one more game in their series and prolong that series a bit. Gives Timelord some more time to rest IF the C's advance.

With Middleton out 4-6 weeks, there's a very good chance that series goes the distance.

Is 4-6 weeks the prognosis?  Wowser.

No but a sprained MCL takes about that long to recover from.

No but a sprained MCL takes about that long to recover from.

It varies depending on severity which is what the MRI will reveal. It can be anywhere from 4 days to upwards of 8+ weeks

But yeah I have to imagine at the very least Middleton's out for the next 3 games this series (at minimum)

If it is 4-6 weeks though, then I think Middleton's not coming back before the ECF if they make it that far.

A grade 1 sprain is typically a 2-3 week injury, mean time missed is about 17 days for NBA players I think. A grade 2 sprain is usually 4-7 weeks. Grade three is surgery for sure and likely months of rehab.

Its unlikely that the injury is grade 3, the fact that he slipped and his foot moved rather than the knee simply bending with the foot stationary likely means less damaging force on the ligament.

We'll see but my guess is he's done for the current series. The bucks can win without him, but they'll have to play better than they have so far.

Ime Udoka says Robert Williams will travel with the team. He's progressing well and has had no setbacks and the 4-6 week timeline is still looking good. Yesterday was 3 weeks since his surgery

That's a good sign.  The Celts see more benefit in having him with the team than they do keeping him home to do more extensive rehab.

He must be getting close. If Cs steal a game in Brooklyn, it buys them some more time to get right. A win on Saturday and think they don’t attempt to bring him back this series.

The Sports Director for Wisconsin 12 News claims that he's been told Middleton will miss 3-4 weeks, which seems randomly in-between a grade 1 and a grade 2...
