Shams Charania: The Los Angeles Lakers intend to waive DeAndre Jordan and sign free agent guard DJ Augustin, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Lakers are bringing in a veteran, accomplished shooting PG to back up Russell Westbrook.

I wanted Augustin.  He’d be a good 3rd string PG.

You guys think Brand and Ime would make a run at Deandre Jordan? He could be a physical presence when match ups require one.

You mean he can stand still and do nothing except watch Embiid do spin move dunks and fall away 15 footers over him? Because that's about all he is good for defensively nowadays.

Big doesn't and has never meant good.

Not only is Jordan not good anymore, but he doesn't care if his team wins or loses and hasn't for years.  He doesn't do anything not counted in his stats.  I did enjoy his pass way into the stands last night though :o

I was concerned vs the Pacers hoe much they could hurt us switching Theis on to guards. He usually didn’t struggle to thst degree but with Theis on the floor we were really behind in defense when they attacked him. Hoping he can be just a tad quicker again. It’s something he’s been excellent at in the past.
I’d love a couple vets as injury insurance. Im very happy with a healthy 8 man rotation.

One of the things about eight man rotations is that they’re rarely health or fresh over the course of a season.  That’s why good coaches get contributions from more than eight players.  Thus, why we here about “shortening the rotation “ in the playoffs.

Ime is doing himself and the team a disservice by not finding roles for literally more than half the roster.

The roster currently has 10 players that were on an NBA roster as of February 10th.  He’s using 9 of those 10 guys in varying amounts.  It’s only Nesmith at this point who hasn’t really found a role, plus a bunch of guys who should only see action in blowouts.

Haha ok, thanks for this. I never really watched any of DJ’s games this season. Didn’t know he’s become that bad.

Anyway, weren’t there reports that we were interested in Jaylen Smith before the trade deadline? The Pacers seem to have a nice project in him. He had a couple of great games for Phoenix when Ayton missed some time though, so who knows what kind of money he’ll get in the off season.

Exactly. I've also heard a bunch of griping about Ime not "developing" players. Like who, Nesmith? That's quite a project -- and behind him, no one is left.

Ime milking something special out of Sam Hauser and 10-day guys is not exactly a plan. It's on Stevens to continue to try to unearth at least one more wing who can contribute some minutes nightly. He's touted Fitts and the other dude... I think Ime will use one if he can, because he's fully aware of the impact on winning his lack of depth is / will have.

Looks like he's on his way to Philly.  I guess that means WCS will be freed up again?

Do you mean that Theis was maybe creaky or not fresh from sitting?

I don't think I fathom why there's still so much talk about signing Jordan, Stein, Zeller, and other 5s.

We have an $8M back-up stiff riding pine, and another we just signed through end of season doing the same. Why do we need another center?

Last I checked, this team is a touch thin in the wing.

If you wanna guy who can play some 5, but also some 4 and 3 and plays hard.... get Cheick.
