I read brad wanted to get some young players like Miami. I hope we can develop someone out of the blue.
Time will tell. Moses Brown would be an idea. He did go for 20/20 against us.
Moses Brown is ineligible because we traded him away less than 12 months ago.
I think that's only true if we were the last team he was with. We can't trade back for him within 12 months, but since he was with another team, we could reacquire him.
I might be wrong.
I also have very minimal interest in him.
Because we were the team who traded him to Dallas, and Dallas is the team who released him, we can't resign him until a) 12 months has passed or b) his contract would have run out, whichever is less. In this case that's 12 months. Similarly, we traded Kanter, who was released by Houston. Because Kanter's deal was scheduled to end at the end of the season, we could sign him in July, despite it being fewer than 12 months.
This is different than Tristan Thompson, for example. We traded Thompson to SAC, but they then traded him to Indy. If Indy buys out Thompson, he would be eligible to sign with Boston.
I took the short explanation in my original reply because Moses Brown didn't warrant something longer in my opinion.
For players we may be actually interested in, if Gary Harris is bought out, he cannot return to Denver until late March, which would be a year after he was traded by Denver to Orlando. I mention this because I've seen Denver as a potential landing spot for Harris, and while that's still possible, they're at a bit of a disadvantage. Contrarily, Miami is eligible to sign Goran Dragic immediately, because they traded him to Toronto, who subsequently traded him to San Antonio, who released him.
