It seems like we just went all in on defense and unselfishness and high character.  Even if Evans can still play, I'm not sure if he's the kind of guy Stevens is looking for.

Dragic has been officially bought out as of this morning.  I doubt we land him, and it won’t be the biggest miss if we don’t, but I’m hoping he doesn’t go to Miami or Milwaukee.

I fear we'll cheap out and sign no one of consequence.   We are not considered an A lister for this kind of stuff either.   Ring chasers will look elsewhere but I do feel we could be a great dark horse threat in the playoffs ( are we allowed to say that anymore? apologies if not)

There's really no option to cheap out here. We can offer minimum contracts, nothing more. Experienced NBA vets may have a slightly higher minimum contract, but its not significant. Brad will try to get the best players available.

I heard Marc Gasol had conversations with the Bucks. I'd love to have  his defensive IQ and size to throw at Embiid for 10 minutes a game in the playoffs.

Is it really cheaping out if nobody will sign with you? We have open roster spots and minimum contracts to offer, but we need to be a desirable destination, as well. We do have a JRich rotation spot burning a hole in our pockets right now. Come on Gary Harris!

And how many players of consequence are getting bought out?

The Celtics may not get ring chasers but maybe a younger player trying to re-establish their value for their next contract?

The end of this clip should remind us on how futile the buyout market almost always is.

I agree.  We have our core team now for the playoffs:

Smart
Brown
Tatum
Horford
RWilliams

Bench:  White, Theis, GWill,.... Pritchard, Nesmith............................Hauser, Kornet

There could be some surprises (for example Dragic could be useful) but I suspect any additional signings are only for depth and behind Hauser and Kornet.

Our starting 5 has been great, surprisingly great in my opinion, and White, Theis, GWill are reliable and predictable.  Pritchard has at least played the last few games, Nesmith not at all, but I do expect that both are going to have moments or opportunities.  I doubt they have a big impact good or bad but there will be moments.

The main gap is back up wing.  Right now that is Nesmith.  Not sure there will be a better option available but it would be nice if there was.  Otherwise back up wing will probably be some combination of White and Grant, neither of which is an actual wing.

That depends on the contract and the team.

I'd loved to get Tomas Satoransky who has size and shot really well last year. So many players shooting numbers are down this year it really makes me think it's the new balls....

This guy has been awesome in world championships and Olympics. He'd be great.

Yeah, he could back up 3 positions.

How much would people lose it if we brought back tristan thompson? If he is actually bought out he would unfortunately be a solid piece for the Lakers. I am just really hoping the Lakers can't add dragic or any shooting.

He will probably be on the Sixers soon my guess.
