About a year ago I floated around a few Jaylen Brown trade scenarios. It was clear at the time that people weren't quite ready to let JB go, but I think it's pretty obvious now that Tatum and Brown together are redundant together, and that the only way to improve the roster going forward is to get a large haul of young players with upside. So here's what I'm presenting...
BOS gets: A. Wiggins, J. Poole, J. Wiseman, J. Kuminga, 2022 1st OR M. Moody
GSW gets: J. Brown, M. Smart, J. Richardson, J. Parker
I think it's fairly obvious why Golden State would do this, but for the Celtics they get a massive soon to be expiring contract in Wiggins, Poole who has lots of upside and is close to a 20 pig scorer already, and two top 5 picks to develop. I guess this trade would depend on how high you are on Wiseman and Kuminga - I personally think they'll both turn out to be high level starters, maybe even All-Stars. It makes a ton of sense for Golden State to turn them in to someone who can contribute right away.
The only downside to this trade is - and I know this may sound crazy to some - but I think it may make the Celtics better or keep them about the same as they are right now, taking away the ability to tank this year.
Also, I must admit it would be great to see Brown and Smart help the Warriors pulverize the Lakers out west
