About a year ago I floated around a few Jaylen Brown trade scenarios. It was clear at the time that people weren't quite ready to let JB go, but I think it's pretty obvious now that Tatum and Brown together are redundant together, and that the only way to improve the roster going forward is to get a large haul of young players with upside. So here's what I'm presenting...

BOS gets: A. Wiggins, J. Poole, J. Wiseman, J. Kuminga, 2022 1st OR M. Moody
GSW gets: J. Brown, M. Smart, J. Richardson, J. Parker

I think it's fairly obvious why Golden State would do this, but for the Celtics they get a massive soon to be expiring contract in Wiggins, Poole who has lots of upside and is close to a 20 pig scorer already, and two top 5 picks to develop. I guess this trade would depend on how high you are on Wiseman and Kuminga - I personally think they'll both turn out to be high level starters, maybe even All-Stars. It makes a ton of sense for Golden State to turn them in to someone who can contribute right away.

The only downside to this trade is - and I know this may sound crazy to some - but I think it may make the Celtics better or keep them about the same as they are right now, taking away the ability to tank this year.

Also, I must admit it would be great to see Brown and Smart help the Warriors pulverize the Lakers out west  8)

I think Brown may be the most difficult player to gauge trade value for currently in the NBA, with the possible exception of Simmons. Is Brown going to play at any version of full speed this season? If not, his value will go down considerably — which is a real bummer for the Cs.

The Celtics asset value just keeps going down, down, down year over year. Few of their recent picks have any real value, and veterans they’ve signed or traded for have left, degraded with age and / or been traded away at reduced value.

The Cs NEED to get a 1st round pick or decent young player for Schroeder at the deadline.

I don't see us getting a 1st for Schroder because we do not own his bird rights so the same issue that is true for us not being able to re-sign and keep Schroder is also true for any other team that is over the cap. So they would lose him in 4 months time.

Not worth giving up a 1st for. It is if you had a chance to keep him but not if you do not.

I don't really like that trade for Boston, but I'm not super high on Poole or Kuminga so that is why.

Interesting trade, but…..

Starting ALL over AGAIN does not appeal to me.

It's not like we're a contender or anything tough, we're at best a perennial 1st round exit team, and currently on track to miss the playoffs.

My worry is more along the line of does this fix whatever is wrong with the current group?

I haven’t seen enough from wiseman or kominga to get excited. I do like Poole. What is crazy is one of those guys, wiggins or Poole has a decent chance of making all star team this year.

Which is why the proposed trade would never happen. They aren't giving us all of those guys for Brown and Smart. They'd keep Wiggins or Poole, and ask for Timelord to be added to the deal along with Brown and Smart.

No they wouldn't. Brown is a significantly better player than those guys.  He is still young. He provides versatility.  Brown + Smart >>>>>>> Wiggins + Poole.

Can we let Tatum and Brown actually play 20 games together this year first? These trade threads are out of control. Brown played 13 games so far. New coach, new players and we want to dump everyone for a bag of peanuts and go back to the deep lottery. Incredible.

Why would the Warriors want a non shooter in Smart?

What else do you need to see…….you haven’t had enough of Jaylen standing in the corner when he plays?

Him being used like a glorified Bruce Bowen frustrates me to no end.

The last game Brown started when he was actually healthy may have been the team's best win of the season. Not sure why some are in such a hurry to move him.
