Where's the "Blow It Up" thread?

Team needs a new mix.  Deal everyone except Tatum.  Hell, if you can get Luka or Trae, deal Tatum, too.

This team looks a lot like the 06-07 Celtics.

look at what happened in 2008.

Brad Beal is our KG!

Hmm...6'4 scrawny dude rather than a menacing 7 foot defensive monster...

Sensational scorer...I'll take it though for sure.

The Bulls starting PF was DeRozan, who is 6'6". The Celtics had a starting frontcourt that included Tatum, Horford, and Williams. Not only did the Bulls outrebound them 50-38, but the Celtics didn't really take advantage of any mismatches with their size by posting up down low. Tatum should have had a field day in the paint, and lived at the line as a result (he was 3-4 free throws).

These guys blamed it on Kyrie, then on Hayward, then on Brad...at some point Tatum, Brown and Smart all have to look in the mirror and be honest with themselves if they want to win someday.

That ECFs run the first year when Hayward and Kyrie got hurt ruined these guys.

Maybe the real culprits were Tatum and Smart that were killing this team and its culture, and not Rozier, Hayward, Horford lol.

Smartacus is getting absolutely pilloried on NBATV with his press conference that has gone viral. Isiah and Candice Parker saying his finger pointing comments don’t bode well for the state of the Celtics locker room and maybe instead of complaining about how the Jays didn’t pass the ball to him, rather he should have focused on how the Cs let the Bulls score 39 points when they had a 19 point lead when he’s supposed to be the defensive leader.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Thinking you might be right about this - what happened that season destroyed the structure of the team and Danny's plan.
Irving still would have turned psycho - that's who he is, but the rest of it has some roots in that playoff run.

The ECF finals run turned out to be a curse in disguise.

Same old Celtics....get a big lead and Yuck it up like it's over...Sickening losing a 19 point lead like nothing--As soon as Mike Gorman said The Bulls take too much time to be a big comeback team, They make a big comeback. Can this guy ever SHUT the hell up? He's always been a JINX

If I was GM, I would fire Ime right away. This is unacceptable

Fire Ime will not solve your roster problems

No, but it will solve the coaching problem.

  • STAND FIRM, SAY NO TO VIBE MEN
Ime at the podium now

Says they didn’t take the game seriously and relaxed when they got the lead they started to get too cute and the game came back to bite them

Said he noticed when the bench got too relaxed and thinking the game was over when it wasn’t ans he called a timeout

Said the team lacked a killer instinct when they thought they had the game won and took their foot off the gas and got too cute

Said they need to not feel like they have the game in the bag with an entire quarter left to play

Said things turned when they started to blitz Jayson and they didn’t make the Bulls pay, and turned the ball over and other players not named Jayson just missed shots

Repeated again that once the Bulls tried to take the ball away from Jayson, other players Have to step up but the other players such as JAylen missed shots

Did he really get on Brown about missing shots? That’s unbelievable…

Ime needs to look in the mirror!

So it’s everyone else’s fault instead of his? If the bench was too relaxed then give Kanter, Parker, and Neismith a chance to play! If you can’t solve JT being blitzed then that’s a big problem because all of the opposing teams will continually do that.
Kanter, Parker and Nesmith aren't going to solve the defensive issues and if anything would make them even worse.

I think the point on Tatum being blitzed is 100% on Ime.  that's why he's the coach -- figure out how to beat the other team's gameplan.  Tatum's never been much of a facilitator and he still isn't.  Jaylen isn't much of one either.  we really don't have a really good one on the team.  in any case, Tatum continuing to be blitzed successfully is on Ime for not figuring out how to deal with that.
They probably won't but it will send locker room a statement that you don't deserve playing time if you feel too entitled or unfocused.
I would rather the coach coach better and get the best players playing better than to purposely lose a game by playing players that suck and don't deserve playing time

Maybe figure out a way to make Chicago pay for blitzing Tatum. Maybe extol the need to get back in transition defense. Maybe put Smart and Brown exclusively on DeRozan and LaVine rather than switching the defender every time. Maybe make sure your best offensive player isn't standing in the corner and not touching the ball or taking a shot for 22 straight minutes. Maybe drawing up better ATOs to make sure the team gets some points after a timeout to stop runs.

How about trying some of that first before subbing in guys that aren't going to help on  the defensive when another team is on a run.
Tough ask for a vibe man who wouldn't be anywhere near a head coaching gig in the NBA if the league hired coaches on quality and merit. He is our Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Stevens' Rick Pitino.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA
