Does anyone on that team want to pass it to a guy that can't hit 25% of his shots from anywhere on the court? A guy that has no problem throwing up 8-9 bricks a game and has a TO% of almost 20%?

Smart needs to look in the mirror and start thinking about what he can do better to get this team winning before throwing the Jays and Ime under the bus.

I would have no problem moving Smart. Sick of his schtick.

Smart saying “he can only do so much without the ball in the corner”

Basically criticizing the offense and the playmaking of Tatum and Brown and Ime obviously

Perk saying he should keep those things in house

Sounds like not all is happy in the House of Ime  :o

man Smart should keep it in house for now, but it feels like Ime has already lost the team.
great.  we are 7 games in, and we are basically in crisis mode at this point.

smh

Pritchard played 7 minutes and was a +8 but never came back. Is Parker hurt? You need a bucket and a rebound but Kanter and Parker don't play! The defense couldn't have been any worse. The Bulls scored 39 in the 4th but the Celtics could only put up 11. Celtics got killed on the boards and didn't defend or score. Here come The Magic!!!

Yeah, he's sulking. Marcus wants to be a star but he's an inconsistent role player.

+/- is such crap. Pritchard took one shot, missed it and was completely invisible when in the game. That +8 was in spite of his contributions, not because of them.

Udoka holds players accountable, not himself.

This game was played at a high pace since the 1st quarter. They sustained a high intensity on defense and were in transition on offense early and often. Once they're up 19, you call a timeout and start going into your bench with high energy players like Nesmith and Pritchard, and even Kanter for post touches and offensive rebounds to keep the momentum going. When you're up 19, you pour it on and keep them running on transition, not keep your best defensive lineups in running on fumes.

At the half, I was going to post a joke about Tatum having 8 shots to Brown's 12, and setting the over/under to how many more shots Jayson would end up with over Jaylen. Tatum overtook him by the end of the 3rd quarter while Brown was on the bench and ended up with Tatum going 4-14 to Brown's 4-6. It's happened in several games, it's on Ime, Tatum, and Brown himself have to correct it. Brown is too good of a player to allow himself to be taken out of the game.

+- is crap but Smart wasn't defending and looking for his shots. Pritchard had took that charge which was all hustle! Smart with 0 Assists. That's your starting point guard?

Brown is too good of a player to allow himself to be taken out of the game.

This is so true. Just run a pick and roll, it can't be that hard.

For all the criticisms of your-turn-my-turn with JT and JB, it's not a bad option for them to do that crunchtime. I'll take a JT or JB pick and roll or post up or even iso over all of our other options.

it really shows how far our def has fallen off a cliff where we score 114 in regulation and get beat by double digits.
where is the C"s def from the last few years that was at least top 10???  We shouldn't have to score more than 114 to win honestly.

Has the NBA changed that much in a year or two that we are no longer a good def team?  I really want to know what is wrong with our def.
I can only think that it has something to do with how we are getting coached, and the def philosophy of the new coach.  How did we turn into such a turd of a team defensively?

This team looks a lot like the 06-07 Celtics.

Smart is part of the problem, a big problem actually, with his inability to hit the shots and the tendency to become rogue, more frequently lately.
He does not deserved to be called the heart and soul of this team. I am tired of him.

Here's what I'm hoping: All this is cathartic. All of these things are reminiscent of the problems we had that season with Kyrie, Marcus Morris, and Hayward. That shadow has hung over this team since then -- bad habits, no killer instinct, lack of accountability, etc.

Sometimes you got to go through a time of heat to purge that stuff out of you. I don't think Brown and Tatum's personality is so frail that they will fall apart. I could see them playing a bit more angry, with fire. They need a little edge like Russell Westbrook or Giannis have.

Jaylen Brown hit a 3 pointer with 5:23 left in the 3rd period, Celts up 17, and only took 2 more shots the rest of the game. His first of the 2 shots came very late in the 4th, Boston down 118-112.

How, as a coach, can you see this happening and not correct it? And it's happened in 3 games this year. Freezing out your best current offensive player who is red hot, by not even getting him touches for 10-15 minute stretches is just dumb, dumb, dumb coaching.

Ime is looking like a huge mistake.
