Where's the "Blow It Up" thread?

Team needs a new mix.  Deal everyone except Tatum.  Hell, if you can get Luka or Trae, deal Tatum, too.

it’s right here:
https://forum.celticsstrong.com/index.php?topic=105489.0

but i was called chicken little for even wanting to discuss it a mere 3-4 days ago.

I'd still like to see some unbaised visual evidence in that thread, btw.

we both know you’re being purposefully obtuse. you’ve seen plenty of evidence, including on this forum.

Nope! I only watch highlights [bad for this type of discussion] and check box scores and comments on here (consequence of being in a bad time zone for Celtics games).  :)

I am in the "it's early days" boat, but I don't have a strong opinion on it because I haven't been able to catch the games.

Saw this on Twitter and literally couldn't believe it.

Apparently the C's didn't have ANY defensive rebounds in the 4th quarter  :o

What the hell...

Stats like that is probably why the two stars skipped the post game presser. That is almost impossible but it happened ..no defensive rebound?

Yep.  The Bulls only missed three shots.  There was one team offensive rebounds and Vucevic got the other two boards.  The Celtics forced four turnovers (excluding the shot clock violation with a couple seconds left), and those were the only four possessions Chicago didn’t score.  The C’s last defensive rebound was with 59 seconds left in the third, when Horford got a rebound off a Lavine moss from 3.

Hugely disappointing finish to the game last night.

Not to make excuses, but when your rotation is basically 7 guys, fatigue has to factor in, especially when two nights prior you played 2OT game, 58 minutes.  We were the superior team for nearly 3 quarters, before the wheels fell off.  We could not match their energy in the end.

Ime has to go deeper in his bench. He is feeling too much pressure to win early, rather than taking the long term view.

With one of the best rebounders in the NBA sitting on the bench.

Well the Bulls did shoot 13-16 from the floor in the 4th for 81%, so the remaining 3 shots they missed they got offensive rebounds for and scored. More an indictment on the atrocious defense than the rebounding though the rebounding was still bad

I can't even watch this uninspiring team anymore. I may cancel my league pass.

I watch other teams less nowadays than I used to but I was watching a bunch of teams a few weeks ago (last season's games) and I was amazed at how bad the Celtics ball-movement was in comparison to most of those teams (good teams). I knew the C's were sub-standard in terms of passing and dribble penetration but I was genuinely shocked at just how bad they were relative to other good teams.

This team needs more quickness, more dribble penetration, more passing off the dribble, more movement off ball and more shooting to stretch defenses. This is why I hate the bigger lineups because all of those things get harder for this team who are already deficient in these areas.

To add insult to injury, our collapse in the 4th quarter was apparently the worst of the shot clock era going back to 1955.

It gets worse,

According to @ESPNStatsInfo, the last time an NBA team didn’t record a defensive rebound in a quarter, as the Celtics didn’t in the fourth quarter Monday night, was the Phoenix Suns in December 2015.

So what you're saying is our team is a record-breaking one?

Couple other things that haven't been mentioned:

Horford looked old. He's still a useful player, but he's definitely lost some bounce and slowed down a bit. He isn't the Al Horford from a couple years ago.

Rob Williams has no idea how to play with Horford. If you watched Williams play in college, it's very similar to when he had to play with another big then.

Jayson Tatum's indecisiveness as a passer/playmaker is probably the biggest thing holding up the offense. When he's not thinking, he's really good. When he is, he's slow and turns it over a lot.

At one point, Ime had Schroeder, Smart, and Richardson on the floor with one of the Js. I like those guys, and I want to believe they could be reliable shooters, but there is no doubt that opposing teams would rather give them spotup threes with a decent contest than any other action.

On big runs, I just want the guys to put so much effort into defense and trying to be disruptive that they commit fouls. It does stop momentum if the foul is called, and swings momentum if they get a big play.

I don't see this criticism at all this season. He's leading the league in blocks per game, and looks completely revitalised physically. Only problem has been his 3 point shooting.

Fully agree about Timelord struggling in the dual-big looks.
