Sixers-Raptors will be an interesting series. I could actually see the Sixers losing that

I could see it too. Siakam is a much better player this year.

So who is covering Embiid? I looked at the Raptors depth chart and it shows Siakam as the starting center. Good luck with that, lol.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The Raptors have played the Sixers tough even with Embiid + Harden playing and healthy. Plus I think they got the better coach so it won't be easy (plus they miss Thybulle in the games @ Toronto because he's unvaxxed).

Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons’ pain-free progress is fueling hope that he could return in the first-round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, even if it’s just in a 10-15 minute a game role, sources told ESPN on Sunday. The Nets would need to advance out of the Play-in Tournament this week and, given continued progress with his back, the hope would be that Simmons could possibly be cleared to play later in a first-round playoff series.

I'd bet the farm those minutes aren't coming in the last 5 minutes of any game.

TOR won series 3-1.

I question the logic of playing Simmons at this point. Given the context with his mental/confidence issues and a whole new team on top of being in a competitive, playoff environment, I highly doubt they throw him into a situation like that. That's poor management and asking for him to either reinjure himself or have even more confidence issues given how rusty he is likely to be.

I'm betting they don't end up playing him at all. They will talk it up as much as possible and hope the opponents strategize for the possibility, but in the end I think he doesn't play.

The quality of analysis between Shaq and Chuck right now is questionable at best  ::)

I'm suspicious about his mental health issues in view of a contract dispute, but he sucks at the end of close games regardless. You need to win close games in the playoffs (a hurdle the Celtics are going to have to clear), but Simmons has had problems his whole career as a PG.

No Thybulle for the 76ers in Toronto and the raptors controlled the season series. Division rivals.

Possible upset!

If Simmons were healthy, it’d be a much tougher matchup because Simmons adds an elite multi position defender that is also an above average rebounder, passer, finisher, and can run the break.

With a back injury, lack of NBA condition, and limited to 10-15 minutes? He won’t be as effective a defender and would be looking to aggravate that injury.

Either way, Brooklyn will have 3/5 subpar defenders on the court at all times, KD and Kyrie having to go 1 on 1, and no depth. Bring on Brooklyn… Boston in 5

Really hoping Cleveland wins the play-in.  That makes the 1st round so much easier.  Would have preferred to avoid Milwaukee in round 2, but it is what it is.  Really nervous about Brooklyn.  Durant is pretty clearly the best player in that series and that matters.

Ben Simmons doesn't strike me as the type of player who plays through pain & limitation to play 15mpg. My guess he'll either be 90-100% ready to play and able to play 27-35mpg or doesn't play at all.

How do the Raptors defend Embiid?

They have no big men.

So they double team him and give Harden the ball against a scrambling out of position team defense? I don't see that plan winning a playoff series.
