This may literally be one of the biggest steals I’ve ever seen. 5.9m for a player a team was willing to pay 20m a year for. I’m honestly shocked.

Yeah, this isn't even a buy-out/ring chasing situation. We legitimately signed him for this contract. I sound like I'm complaining in my comment, but I am really excited. And perhaps it could be more than a rental if we open up money under the tax next season...at least offer him MLE money if it works out.

I'm so relieved this actually happened and I can't get over for how cheap.  Right place at the right time for the Cs and we really needed this.  Good on Brad for not overreacting and overpaying.  He did the research, stayed patient and cashed in on a perfect opportunity.

Heck yeah. The trickle down effect of getting him will be huge for our bench.

Rondo lite. Should be interesting. I think Romeo should give him #9.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yeah, we needed more NBA players.

A week or so ago, just hours after free agency, this site brought out the pitchforks and was ready to march on TD Garden and riot there while calling for Brad and Wyc's heads. It was clear to almost everyone that the team would suck this year.

A week or so later, Brad signs Schroder for $5.9 million and everyone loves Brad and the Celtics look like they are for real in the East.

The fickleness and recency bias here is off the chart.

Maybe, we all should have had some patience back when it was just hours after the start of free agency? Maybe??

As for Schroder, isn't he just a taller, younger, worse at defense version of Kemba Walker? If Kemba was a bad fit for this team, why wouldn't Schroder be as well?

Yeah we'll probably have to throw in the 2nd rounder that came with him.

So someone needs to go to make room on the roster.  More trades coming or Parker gets releases.

Schroder had an off year last year and still, he averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game!
