I think Robb’s math is slightly off.  Since the Celtics would be a taxpayer team after such a trade as he describes, they could only take back 125% of Thompson’s salary, not his salary plus $5 million, so $12.25 million.  This puts us in Nance and Kyle Anderson territory, but not most of the other players he named (I can’t see Bagley being someone who Stevens would be interested in given his concerns about consistent effort and maturity).

That said, salary filler like Carsen Edwards would get us the rest of the way there for the guys on his list.
Thad Young or Malik Beasley would be awesome from a talent perspective. Dunno what state Beasley's personal life is in though...

I'd be interested in TJ Warren, myself.  Would probably need to send a different player than Edwards to make that deal work for Indiana, however.
I loved TJ Warren coming out of NC State, was annoyed he didn't fall to us / we didn't trade up for him. Now that his 3 point shooting is elite he'd be an ideal 3rd scorer

I wonder if there’s any way to squeeze either Hield or Barnes out of Sacramento as part of this deal. I think both would fit in different ways here - Hield as a sharp-shooting 2 if we go smaller or Barnes as our versatile 3/4 if we go bigger.

I realize this would impact our ability to have max space next year, but I’m growing more and more concerned with that approach given more free agents next year are coming off the board and Beal’s status questionable.

Including Cleveland/Nance somehow would also be an attractive additional option.

I'm wondering if Collins is who we would getting. Atl doens't seem to really want him, and might be a reason we aren't aggressive with Fournier. Seen reports of 4 for 80 mil, not sure how much that effects next summer. Plus the rumor of Smart possibly heading out and the trade not going trough, it would seem that they are waiting to be able to S&T some one.

Or Collins heading to SAC and we're getting other pieces.
If C’s somehow squeeze Collins out of this deal, I will be ecstatic. Might have to give up Timelord though.

I think you should give up Timelord since he's been injury prone throughout his tenure.

Then make it so!

It seems as though SAC at least has moved on from this trade.  I get the feeling this trade is dead.  There may be an alternate trade being discussed but I don't think we can still plan that Thompson is going out for Dunn and Fernando, can we?

From what I read, it can't happen until the 6th now, that's why there has been no movement.  I still believe it gets done.

I too expect it to get done, but it might look a little different as another team hops on to address a need they couldn’t fulfill via free agency.

Latest from Keith Smith, talking maybe a fourth team.

This trade better bring in some worthy pieces. We’re being left out in the free agent market.

I'd have zero expectations or you will be let down.  I don't think much will happen outside of players going elsewhere vs Boston.  It's transparent that the team does not want to add in any long term salary unless its for a star.  I don't see anyone of major value coming back to the C's.

Again, follow a lot of pundits on Twitter, one saying the C's are trying to expand to get Bagley.  That would be intriguing....

I need to stick with the zero expectations because I think Bagley in a different situation with guys like Tatum and Brown could be a great fit.  I just don't see this happening.  If it does I'll be elated.  If it doesn't then I won't be let down.

I’d be happy if we could squeeze Bagley out of this. Not sure what the specifics would be.

Tatum / Bagley
Horford / Williams

I like that quad
