If it grazed his head why did he not recoil nor react immediately? That seems very suspect

Yeah exactly, he actually pointed up at the crowd right after the bottle flew by and only turned around and seemed to care when he followed Tyler Johnson's lead when he spun around first.

The kid should ask the NBA for some instant replay on whether the bottle hit Kyrie or not to see if it's a common foul or a flagrant 1 or 2.

Dun matter, they'll say call stands, no conclusive evidence

they will start to make stuff up now. It is rather suspect because they do not have the elements for a battery charge.

Cedric Maxwell had some interesting comments on NBC Sports Boston. Some of his points:

- Max said he has never heard a racist comment in the Garden in all of his years of playing and as a color commentator. He also hasn't heard any such stories from any players.

- Boston is not any more racist than other cities

- the Celtics should retaliate for Kyrie stepping on the logo. Max talked to Rick Mahorn after the game and they wish the rules were like the 80's because Kyrie needs some corporal punishment. The 80's teams would not have tolerated his behavior. Imagine if Kyrie did this to the Bad Boy Pistons. Lol that would be amazing

IMO Kyrie has manufactured a dangerous situation. Because there are zero consequences for his actions the fans are just getting angrier and angrier. This is a major downside to the players not being able to police themselves. Now I'm not saying we should go back to the thuggery of Bill Laimbeer, but things have gotten too soft and the game has suffered.

I miss the more physical days of the 90's and the aughts. Something really has been lost in this transition to three-point basketball. I think the strict conduct standards have hurt team morale and team loyalty. The physicality helped bring guys together against a common foe. Now they are more worried about making the highlight reel and selling shoes than they are in backing up their teammates.

In no other sport are you so unable to self-police. It's too bad.

Didn't Laimbeer say/write somewhere that he would spit on the leprechaun and rub his foot on it every time he played the Celtics?

Sounds like something he would do. But at least those Celtics were allowed to stick up for themselves. One of my favorite moments of all time was when Parrish bludgeoned Laimbeer. The great thing is that Laimbeer didn't even complain afterwards, and the refs ruled it a common foul.

The main issue being those Celtics genuinely cared about protecting the parquet, today's Celtics are more interested in maintaining their buddy cliques off the court.

I always loved Max - As much as I appreciated Bill Walton and enjoyed the '86 juggernaut, I wish Cedric could have finished his career in Boston. So happy he and Red patched things up and retired his number.

Unlike Kyrie reacting to the fan like a little tattle-tale, Max handled such incidents himself.
I've always believed him going after the abusive fan in Philly during the Game 6 ECF was a huge factor in the Celts' series comeback. That game remains my all-time favorite Celtics win in history.

Of course, Cedric's comments will get very little play with the national media or the TNT studio clown show.
Simply doesn't fit their agenda.

100% agree with all the points made here by Max.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
