[Jiri Welsch]

I see where Klay Thompson was waived by Dallas and almost immediately signed with Miami.
I hate it, but Miami could be pretty good after adding Giannis and Portis, plus now Thompson, though they lost a key starter.

Did the Celts have any interest in Thompson ?
Apparently Thompson was set on Miami though.

The Celtics' main goal this season appears to be remaining under the luxury tax. Therefore they can't sign another guy, even for the veteran minimum, this offseason without doing some larger roster configuration.

They also have a glut of young wings that they want to get an increased look at (to see who is worth keeping).

Don't think Klay made much sense for the Celtics.

I can't believe people still think we will make moves.  We are under the cap  and I agree with Jiri Welsch we are not going to sign anyone and go back over it.

It is all pretty cryptic but I think all that Bob Meyers is saying is that for PHI, this was not a panic move to go out and get Brown but rather, after the MIL trade fell through, they reached out to Brad, and they know Brad was serious.  I am not sure what it all means, seems like just a bunch of conjecture babble.

As to T-Mac, what I took from it is that even back whenever this conversation took place, sometime before the title, that Brown was already having doubts that he wanted to be the second fiddle to Tatum.  But T-Mac said no dude, you have a chance to win a title, stick it out.  And then T-Mac is saying Brown never got what T-Mac was trying to say, to me, implying that Brown probably still did not want to be a second fiddle.

I'm sure we will find out Jaylen's side of the story when he writes a book after he's done playing.  I can totally see this happening.  I hate speculation but there have been enough reports that Jaylen has ALWAYS felt disrespected.  He feels he's either as good or better then Tatum and that he should be the one they build a team around.  Last year Brown was the Alpha.  We all know his comments he tried to walk back after the season was over.  We all know that JB and JT aren't great friends and don't hang out, outside of work.  They are both professionals and know how to be professional but at the end of the day I truly believe Jaylen wanted out of Tatum's shadow.  Brad just got sick of the negative attention Jaylen can bring from his podcast and probably behind closed doors and didn't want to commit 70m per year when he knew they could not win a 2nd chip together.  The year that they won it they didn't play the best teams.  If OKC or someone else in the east played the C's would they have won?  The stars definitely aligned for them and they were meant to be champions that year but for the next 5 they were not winning it all with JB/JT combo.  JB will always be one of my all time favorite C's but I was not upset they traded him.  I just wish they had gotten more for him.
