Overall a significant downgrade, but at least this should mean the end of two big lineups.

The Celts weren't going to be able to pay Theis this summer.

I love Wagner. He’s a pain in butt who hustles and can shoot 3. Great complement to Rob when we want to stretch. He was taken a pick or two by Lakers in draft before we got Rob as I recall.

Curious on the terms of this.  Chicago wouldn't seem to have been able to match salaries with Mo and Theis.  Perhaps they picked up an exception in their deals today that would have fit him in, or this is an attachment to one of them so that it works.

I like Wagner too. He's a 23 and can do a little bit of everything. Still developing prospect. I will really miss Theis though. He's an irritant.

He needs to improve that 3PT shooting.  Pretty bad right now.

This was a talent downgrade to clear the jam at center and (I assume) get under the tax line. They couldn’t keep Theis and Thompson next year and I guess Theis was the guy they could move.

Hopefully

Wagner is an underrated passer. Better than Theis imo

It seems Mo Wagner will fit an older TPE and this trade will create another TPE to the Cs. It is supposedlly the size of Theis' contract.

Could be more going on here.

Source says that Daniel Theis, Jeff Teague and Javonte Green are all headed out, possibly with third team involved between Celtics and Bulls.
