Harrison Barnes' three point percentage is impressive but his volume is only average. Around 4 attempts per game despite playing 35mpg last 4-5 years.

Now his teammate, Buddy Hield, that is what a shooter looks like = 10 attempts a night on 40% accuracy.

Volume + shooting efficiency. Gotta put them together.

Excellent, thanks Who!

So like I said he's really a poor man's version of what we essentially already have.

Seems like if we're going to acquire anyone it should be heild.

In fact I couldn't disagree with ainge more I think a heild type shooter, esp. on the bench is exactly what this team needs the most.

Teague needs to be phased out or cut, just needs to not see the floor for this team. It'd b one thing if his offense was even just mediocre but it isn't and defensively we may as well have IT out there. I've never been a fan of 2 PG' backcourts and that's what happens when teague is on the floor. Bad signing.

We need shooting from the back up 2 spot more than anything but an actual SG that can play would help.

I’d favor Barnes.  Having one dimensional players isn’t as helpful as having guys who can shoot extremely well plus do other things.

We already have plenty of guys that do a lot of things well, we need guys that do at least one thing great. It's how roles are defined.

If steve kerr thought he was michael jordan it never would have worked.
Not really

The Kings are rolling with this group and are now only about 2 games back from the Celtics. Why would they be rushing to trade away key guys from their rotation?

The Fox, Haliburton, Barnes group is killing it. If anyone is available it's Hield. We need a 4 though as Ainge and Wyc keep saying, not another guard.

Sadly I agree. Worry the Kings are unmotivated before the trade deadline. Last night win vs Nuggets and recent Celtic win has to bolster management’s confidence.

At one point in the interview, Ainge referred to "shooting at the big position." He said that it was something that "we haven't had."

That doesn't sound like Harrison Barnes, who's not a big by any stretch.

Is it likely that he was just being theoretical? No, I think not. They've got someone in mind.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

Is John Collins really available? I just can't see the Hawks moving on from a young, promising player.

Hard to say.  There’s smoke there.  He doesn’t seem to like the offense, and the Hawks massively low-balled him in extension talks.

I know most people here would say no but I wonder if the Heat would do a Smart & Ojeleye for Robinson & Olynyk.

Thompson
Tatum
Robinson
Brown
Walker

Olynyk 6th man

Heat need Smart’s defence and another playmaker

Adebayo
Ojeleye
Butler
Herro
Smart

Nik Vucevic count? Orlando might decide to bottom out and search for young guys, assets and cap space. Think he’d be great here.

I’ve been calling for him for months! If not years ;D

I think it's vuc, I think the guy is soft but they've been rumored to be interested in him since like last season. So wouldn't be surprised if it's him.

John Collins.

That name occurred to me, too. Distance shooting, finishing at the rim, low turnovers, shotblocking.

I don’t know why people on here are obsessed with John Collins. There is a reason Atlanta haven’t resigned him yet...he is the quintessential good stats bad team guy.

Collins is too slight to guard centres and not good enough of a lateral mover to guard elite wings and guards, he doesn’t have a high defensive iq either. He isn’t a post player and he’s not a true wing, he can hit open jumpers well but so can cheaper role players and given how Collins has behaved recently he wants a max deal. It’s funny he’s on the Hawks because minus the shooting he is the same player as Josh Smith.
