It is funny how the "take" on Ainge seems to oscillate. We know he is not afraid to make a big trade if he feels it is the right deal. We also know that he will walk away and not do a deal over doing it just to do a deal.
Right now, the "chatter" among fans seems to be critical that he didn't do the deal with Indy, that there is always a lot of talk but that in the end, he never does a deal at the deadline (as he hasn't the last few years). But everyone is forgetting that this is still Trader Dan.
This most recent rumor seems very reasonable. It is also consistent with Ainge's statements. They are looking for a big who can shoot. Probably a lot of other teams are also.
This rumor mentioned Bradley Beal, PJ Tucker, and Thad Young. I would be stunned if we end up with Beal, I simply don't believe there is a deal there. I would be disappointed if our "big" deal was PJ Tucker, he is 6'-5" (smaller than Grant Williams) and currently averaging less than 5 pts and 5 rebs in 30 min per game. And I would be happy if we ended up with Thad Young. Young is more swing than PF but at 6'-8" he does provide some size and otherwise brings things we need.
