It’s almost like most of you guys haven’t been watching NBA basketball for the past 5 years or so.  NO ONE gives a crap about “bigs” or spending big $ of PF/C.  Who cares if Embid scores 50 if we are chucking up 3s every time down and STILL WIN.  I don’t understand all the whining over big men here....

I agree with this in terms of offense, but the best defenses usually have a good big. Where we are going to miss Al the most is on defense imo.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Your argument would make more sense if the Celtics had legitimate snipers in the starting lineup.  This simply isn't the case, which means the team needs more balance.  Tell me that the front court didn't matter for the Toronto Raptors?  For the record, the Raptors shot only 29% from three in their series against Philly.

I would argue the best teams rebound and small teams struggle with that. So it looks and sounds good in the regular season but come playoffs when the game slows down and becomes more physical you need players that can bang.

We just need people who can defend Giannis and likely Kawhi, while the rest can close out on shooter.  Defensive rebounding is going to be an issue again but it was anyways with Horford.

I do not care if Embiid goes for 50/35/12 against us, just shut the rest of their team down.

I agree that spending more money on guards and wings is better than spending big money on bigs but you still need capable size in the NBA.  We don't have enough right now.  We didn't last season either, even with Horford.  We essentially chose Walker over Horford which I think makes sense for a number of reasons but that doesn't mean you don't need bigs.

none of those 3 we can afford. Kanter is close to gasol level.

Pau Gasol should've been finals MVP in 2010.  I really wish people would stop using that as a barometer for greatness.  Fans get a vote in that award.  Often it's a popularity contest.

I don't think anyone is saying that you need dominant bigs to win, or at least I am not saying that.  But you do need capable bigs.  We don't have enough capable bigs right now.
