According to Stein 3 hours ago, Lakers are now frontrunners at top for Kawhi. Will form the biggest super team ever with two players right in their prime. Oh boy.....

This is honestly like Barkley, Jordan and magic team up in 89. I honestly can’t understand why these guys would want to do this? Like a lot of us have played pickup game. I’ve never been involved in a pickup game where the three 6’5 guys all want to play together against a bunch of 5’8 guys...

And this is why so many people hate Lebron.
Why hate Lebron?  It makes perfect sense from his standpoint.  Why not hate AD and potentially Kawhi for joining the Lebron circus.

Because theres no Pride involved if true.. kawhi just proved you can win a championship with a GOOD TEAM. IF TRUE these guys have no feel for fan reaction to this
If 3 big stars wanted to sign with us, no one on here would be griping.  Personally I think it would be a dumb move by Kawhi to join the Lakers.  I don't think he'd be happy dealing with the Lebron circus.

The Los Angeles Lakers reached out to D'Angelo Russell's agents at CAA -- Austin Brown and Aaron Mintz -- to set up a meeting with the All-Star guard, league sources tell ESPN. The Lakers and Russell share a mutual interest in a reunion. Lakers have the cap space to sign him.

Boston will renounce the rights to guard Terry Rozier - to open up a max slot for Kemba Walker - and he’ll become an unrestricted free agent, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Dang, that probably means we're stuck with operating as an under the cap team and only have access to the room exception.

Woj is on fire. 4 tweets in 3 minutes

Quote from: Adrian Wojnarowski
Free agent Kyrie Irving is meeting with the Brooklyn Nets in New York on Sunday and both sides are motivated to move quickly toward reaching a 4-year, $141M deal, league sources tell ESPN.

Once Kyrie Irving commits to a deal, Nets are expected to renounce All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell and allow him to become an unrestricted free agent, league sources tell ESPN. Russell led Nets to the playoffs this past season. There's tremendous league-wide interest in Russell.
Quote from: Adrian Wojnarowski
Sources: Jimmy Butler expected to meet the Miami Heat in South Fla. Sunday. Butler/Rockets meeting likely early week in LA. Sixers haven’t ruled out working with Butler on sign-and-trades, which Miami and Houston need to acquire the All-Star guard.

Free agent G Derrick Rose will meet with the Pistons on Sunday, with both sides motivated on finding a pathway to a two-year contract, league sources tell ESPN.

Hopefully Russell ends up in Minny instead of LAL. Would be hilarious if LAL wasn't able to get a third max-level star this summer, even though that's probably the best route for them so that they can instead find better fitting pieces to fill out the roster.

Absolutely. The collective BBIQ on the team just jumped about 20 points with Danny renouncing Rozier!  ;D

Well of course if 3 big stars wanted to sign here we’d be ecstatic. The issue is that the Lakers eventually get multiple top 10 talent in just about every basketball generation while the rest of the league scraps for 1.  I’d be glad if one megastar wanted to play in Boston.

Yes I have a heaping dose of sour grapes - p---ed that 2 top 10 players turned down the C’s just as 3 top 10 (if KL goes LAL) land in the Lakers’ lap.  17 and 18 will soon be theirs.

The C’s clearly have it better than the most of the league — at least the Celtics can attract 2nd tier stars.

Well that's a good bye Kyrie. Glad it 's the Nets. I like the Nets. It s not the Lakers. That would make me sick.

I’d much prefer the Lakers.  I’d love to laugh at Kyrie, LeBron and AD going nowhere this year.

So what's the deal with Butler's interest in Miami? I find that interesting.

Jimmy's got a rep. I think it's much more about with living in Miami than the Heat organization.

I have a feeling Butler will end up in Miami. Maybe he want's to be a star of the team. Miami is a good place to live too.

Ego. I think Butler considers himself a bonafide #1 offensive option, alpha superstar and wants to be the man somewhere. He won't be that guy in LAL, Philly or Houston. He seems to have hated being the second banana behind Derrick Rose in Chicago, then Towns in Minny and both Simmons and Embiid in Philadelphia. In Miami, he would be in the role I think he wants to be in, being the face of the franchise.

Wonder what Miami would give up in a sign & trade? Old friend Olynyk might not be a bad fit next to Embiid.
