I hate when so many teams have cap space. I hate it even more that Al will get an absurd offer from a likely fringe NBA team. It sucks. I want him here.


I'm a simple man, I don't like 29 other teams competing with us for talent. I bet the 60s were so much more fun.

There are some league executives that believe the "mystery team" for Al Horford is...the Boston Celtics.

But keeping Horford's rights would require a number of complicated maneuvers, including a double sign-and-trade involving Kemba Walker and Terry Rozier. It wouldn't be easy.

I’d give up the Memphis pick to do this.  Would this allow us to get the full MLE?

The Al Horford situation has been very tricky to figure out, but one team that I'm told has very real interest is Philly (moving parts there obviously with their own free agents, Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris)

These rumors are really silly.  Kings might be getting Horford but ... per Amick their chance of the getting Dedmon is very real but ... per Amick they are also one of the secured scenario destination for Capela if the Butler sign-and-trade to Houston happens.

As for the Kings, the prospect of them landing Dewayne Dedmon is very real. Also, sources tell @TheAthletic Sacramento is ONE OF the secured scenarios for Houston's Clint Capela if Jimmy Butler decides to come Houston's way (the Rockets have more than one; highest bidder wins).

If the Sixers were to re-sign Butler, I think letting Harris walk and signing AL would probably make them a better team.  Now if they do the reverse, I don't like the Harris/AL combination nearly as much.  If they lose both Butler and Harris, Brogdon and Al would be nice consolation prizes.

If the money is the same, I see Al preferring to come back to Boston than to play in Philly.  I trust he had a good relationship with Brad and Danny. I don't know what his relationship with Kyrie was; but could seem a Kyrie for Kemba swap to be fine with him. Probably a plus.
