According to Stein, it seems likely KD is going to BKN along with Kyrie and D. Jordan

I mean, that's not exactly what he said though lol He said the Nets are acting like they believe he's coming there. That's a bit different. Others are saying they're hearing he's going back to GS.

An undeniable vibe of confidence is emanating from Brooklyn as we speak: The Nets sure seem to believe they are getting Kevin Durant's commitment tonight to go with Kyrie Irving"s ... with DeAndre Jordan, Durant's close friend, to follow

Woj says Brook Lopez back to Milwaukee at 4/52.  That's pretty good for him on both length and $ but with that, Middleton's full max and maybe matching on Brogdon the Bucks are really limiting their flexibility. Probably have to given their situation though.

Brooks Lopez staying in Mil..4 years

That stinks. But Lopez is 31 and injury prone--there could be worse signings from a Celtics fan perspective.

Wonder if this means they're planning on letting Brogdon walk at a certain number.

It helps them a good bit this year but could be an albatross in the long run.

The worry for a small market team like that is it only takes 1 or 2 of those bigger contracts to blow up for it to be really hard to put a strong team around Giannis, and it's really easy for a guy like Giannis to demand a trade or skip town when he realizes that.

Free agent guard Garrett Temple is expected to sign a two-year, $10 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets, a source told ESPN's The Undefeated. Team option second year.

Okay, but if they're signing both Kyrie and KD, where are they getting this money for Temple? I don't think that fits in the room exception, and they won't have cap space to sign all three of them, right?

EDIT: And this isn't even considering the fact that they're wanting DJ to come, too. Not sure how that's supposed to work unless they're planning on moving other players, too, which could get sticky for them with KD out next year already.

I think it fits the room exception. $4,767,000 + $5,110,000 = $9,877,000. Close enough to $10M.

Lopez play 81 games last season and he played more than 70 games the previous 4 seasons.  He's had 2 seasons where he missed a lot of games.  In his other 9 seasons he played over 70 games.  So how exactly is he injury prone?

It’s probably the Room Exception. $4.8 million plus a slight raise in the second year.

It’s not that big, though. Roughly 10% of the cap and easily stretchable in future years.

Once free agency opens at 6 PM ET, center Jonas Valanciunas is expected to commit to a three-year, $45M contract to return to the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources tell ESPN.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1145389006802366464?s=21

That is a pity. I wanted Jaren Jackson to start at C with Morant at PG surrounded by guys who can shoot.

That team would have been majorly exciting.

That can happen after we get their pick.

I think Valanciunas easily makes them a better team next season. Worse for their long term-future - I agree JJJ should be playing at center to realize his potential sooner rather than later - and probably less exciting than a faster and more spread out team, but they'll be better next season. Not necessarily bad for the pick's value though.
