fun to go over the thread and see what we all were writing about langford. once more, it pays to wait on rookies before casting final judgement doesnt it?  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Really big game by Langford against Atlanta.  Clutch rebound, points, and free throws at the end of the 4th.

I'm looking forward to seeing his game grow.  Because that was his best as a Celtic so far.

Now how good is he going to be?  No idea.  I wasn't excited about this pick tbh.  Was afraid he'd be trending more towards an RJ Hunter or a James Young type.

But I'm willing to give Romeo a chance as long as he's wearing our green.  Who knows, at least he can't be as bad as Yabusele, right?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Great to see Romeo come out and tear it up. I have loved what I've seen from him and he certainly looks like he belongs. With the injuries and only having one year of college, I always assumed we were just bringing him along slowly - not that he wasn't ready for minutes. Glad we didn't trade him for a vet expiring retread.

Also, I know we have this Romeo thread, but there is also this other one from before this one started (like the draft through Sep) if people are interested.

Great poise!

Great blocks!

Clutch FTs to ice game!

Great body control and finish on nice, but not perfect Smart pass!

Confidence corner3!

Some nice hoops!

The best is yet to come for Romeo!

Hope he keeps quieting the Danny nay-sayers.

1. 2 games is a very small sample size.

2. Romeo's been great in it, especially on defense. Hawks or not, the ability to be a genuine game changer in ANY NBA game is a good milestone for a rookie.

3. Very glad we hung on to him. He's got potential, and a lot of it.

Romeo is an effortless athlete.  Surprised by his hangtime capability.

But according to some he is James Young lol. They look at their faces and immediately judge a player based on that.

I honestly can’t believe people who have been on here for years still overreact and simultaneously think they know more than a high level GM and his team that has every piece of info on these guys that we could never get a hold of...and in few looks we judge these guys. Romeo was always a project and is still a project so he has enormous growth to go. People on here can be aggressively arrogant at times and just need to wait to judge, usually 3 seasons at least.

One thing I like about Romeo is that he makes things look effortless and the dude does not appear to sweat.  He almost has a feline grace to him.  He is really light on his feet and is an active defender who gets in passing lanes.  I hope him in rotation sticks are guys come back from injuries.

"He's a bust, lets trade him for a bench scorer"

I was thinking those 'bust' assessments by several vocal posters looking to throw the kid away in bad trades are aging like day-old fish sitting out on a hot summer day sun.
Probably the same folk wanting to trade Hayward for Drummond, lol

Funny coz theres this massive hayward hater who was just alternating between hayward and romeo trade ideas and criticisms
