I saw Romeo Play in High School. He is one of the best I have ever seen. He is no James Young.
He can guard people now, IMO.
This is all I need to know, thx.  How about this comp: Reggie Lewis.

Reggie was more athletic and went to the hoop stronger. And, relied more on his jump shot.

Romeo has a longer reach and blocks shots easier. He uses floaters more.

Hope he's not traded at the DL as a throw-in, especially for another Rodney Rogers (Bertans). Realistically ECF is the ceiling IMO.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Wow, the haters.  First off, it was a review of one of our players, assuming, somewhere around every week they are writing one.  Second, I've read some of the articles written by people here and let me say, many of them are elementary level and I wonder how much of the game the writers actually watch and understand.

Did you by any chance write the article? Lol, you sound extremely hurt by people's comments.  ;) :)

Reggie is a good comparison but he i think Romeo will be a better passer.

Romeo looks like a promising player but he's got a long way to go before we start making comparisons to Reggie Lewis.

Well, Reggie played four years at a ridiculously small college program and barely played his first pro season. Reggie didn't become Reggie until he was 23 years old.

So, Romeo has lots of years to possibly become a Reggie like player. Thankfully.

I was thinking that Reggie was bigger, just a different body type, so I looked it up. Turns out Reggie was taller but also much more slender. Reggie is listed at 6'7", 194 to Romeo's 6'4", 216(!).

I'm actually surprised Romeo is that stout. It's possible that Reggie's height is exaggerated under the old NBA measurement system, but I still see him as taller and thinner. Looks to me like Romeo could add some muscle and end up a little heavier than his current weight.

With the way they have adjusted (decreased) player heights this season, it has become incredibly confusing. If you are going to go by in-shoes height - which I assume Reggie's 6'7" is - then you have to do the same for Romeo. Just a quick google search shows that Romeo is 6'6" in shoes (nba.com).

But, yeah, Romeo has a long way to go before he even comes close to Reggie, but as nick pointed out, he has plenty of time to get there.

I was thinking those 'bust' assessments by several vocal posters looking to throw the kid away in bad trades are aging like day-old fish sitting out on a hot summer day sun.

Probably the same folk wanting to trade Hayward for Drummond, lol
