Watched the game and I was impressed with his polish. Some of the moves he pulled off when he had the ball were stuff that you'd only expect from a veteran, and he made getting to the basket effortless with his quickness and skill. He has the potential to be a really good scorer if he improves his shot, it's pretty wacky from three so far.

The defence was pretty encouraging imo, he blew some assignments but was pretty active overall and had his moments with some timely interceptions.
Yeah, plus he hasn’t pretty solid size at 6’5”, 215lbs and a 6’11” wingspan. No JB-like freakish 2 guard length, but still good size.

6'4 iirc, but yeah he has good size for a combo guard. Don't like playing him as a wing unless he grows though, especially the forward positions.

Combine comps have Jaylen wingspan 6-11 3/4 and standing reach 8-6.5
Romeo had 6-11 wingspan and standing reach 8-7---

Oh yeah I'm aware that his functional height is pretty insane. He lacks the requisite strength and pop to deal with bigger wings though imo, at least until he physically matures.

i sure didn't see much to complain about .   Passes and catches good ,  not a ball hog ,  seems to fit Brads game plan ,  not scard to go after a rebound or score given the opportunity.

I think he has made a case for minutes.  He doesn't look rattled at all.   He has great lenght at his size and provides better defense than edwards .

19 minutes, 0 points on 0-5 shooting on Sunday for Maine, while Carson and Tremont were scoring 28 points each.

Man, it's no longer just the injuries.  I don't think this guy has it.  James Young redux.
Woah, he had a singular bad game? The sky is falling, everyone! This sort of stuff makes me wonder if rookies hate being drafted by us...
Ok smart guy. Go ahead and quote me on this and have me eat crow if I’m wrong. I’d love to be wrong. Sadly I won’t be. It’s not a singular bad game. When he has been healthy in preseason and g league he’s done nothing to impress. If you want to hold out hope after Hope is gone be my guest. But I’m officially chalking him up as a bust.

I think that this is an exaggeration.

More like a hot take that could age very poorly.

From what I’ve seen of Romeo, he’s clearly has an nba body and is an nba athlete.  Looks every bit like a lottery pick.

He looks good on both ends. He moves well and his shot looks good. Good pick.

Romeo looked pretty good the last two games, which I think were his first two games.  He definitely flashed talent.  Even though he was an early season lottery prospect, we got him 14th so if he ends up a solid role player its a good pick and not a bust.  I know a lot of people wanted Tyler Herro and he's playing great but we didn't pass on him he went before our pick.  You gota to play the hand you're dealt.

I'd like to get everyone's opinion on who Romeo reminds them of stylistically because for the life of me I can't think of anyone. Maybe a bit of Michael Redd but he moves a lot differently, I think the way he moves and his low centre of gravity is similar to Harden just a poor man's version obviously or a bit of Manu Ginobili, Joe Johnson?

Romeo seems very unique the way he plays.

Trust me, I would love nothing more than to be spectacularly wrong with that take.  It's definitely too early to call me wrong though.  Despite having decent stats these last two games, he still has a passivity to his game that explains to me why he went 0-5 in a Red Claws game.  E.g. he sits in the corner and waits for the game to come to him.  Hopefully, it's just early season nerves and he does more and more as he becomes more comfortable and confident.

And I assume you were one of the people who called Jaylen passive because he was parked in the corner last season and earlier on this season? It's the team's offensive scheme, Langford is playing the role of the wings/guards who stand in the corner to space the floor, he can't steal the ball from his teammates to show you that he's aggressive.

I think it's also a possibility that Romeo is being showcased.
