The problem for Mickey is that unlike McDaniels, he's not playing for the Sixers and will likely spend the bulk of the season either on the end of the bench or in the D-League.

So a 1 year deal doesn't seem like the best plan for him.

McDaniels was traded midseason and got buried in Houston. Fairly sure being buried won't hurt him.

But he had the benefit of playing in Philly and establishing his value. Mickey won't have that here. Unless there's a big trade or rash of injuries, I can't even imagine a scenario where he ever even cracks the active roster.

If Sullinger balloons up to 320, can you see him being benched as punishment and Mickey getting some minutes?

He would still be behind Olynyk, Lee, Johnson, Zeller, and Jerekbo.  I see him splitting time between occasional garbage minutes in the NBA and playing in the D League.

I'm pretty sure someone--I'm thinking Sully or Zeller--will be traded before the season starts. They probably wouldn't even mind finding a place for Holmes, too--but then both Sully and Zeller would have to be re-homed.

Does anyone know if the final two years are player or team options?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Is he a one year rental or not?

I would be surprised if its one year. Celtics were not going to agree  to that unless they had no choice(last day).

My guess is ,its 4 years (2 and 2) or 2 and 1 but very close to late 1st money as a starting point

Im glad this is over

Now  something has to happen to the roster.

That is a better deal than Joe Young got.

RJ Hunter prob is like, man i wish i went 33

Like somone said, they need to revamp the 2nd round contracts. Maybe start a little higher than min and up to 900k a year

He's barely going to play this season. Better to take that 4 year deal and guarantee some money than risk the restricted market after the season. Sounds to me he doesn't like where he landed and wants to avoid the D league if possible.

The fact that there is a rough patch in negotiation tells me they want Mickey not only on the roster, but indeed to play THIS season. We do not have ANYONE on this roster who can intimidate in the post. Stevens is a Defense 1st coach. Do the math!!!

No. Unless there are several major trades or a rash or injuries, Mickey will never play and/or likely spend the whole season in the D-League.

That's the math. With Johnson, Lee, Sullinger, Olynyk, and Jerbenko he has no other prayer to crack the rotation and probably not even the active roster.

So Jon ,
How's those remedial math classes going??

Team option which means if he develops, he can either play a big role for us or become the "Al Jefferson" type who lands us a big fish in a future trade.
