He would still be behind Olynyk, Lee, Johnson, Zeller, and Jerekbo.  I see him splitting time between occasional garbage minutes in the NBA and playing in the D League.

If the minutes crunch is so bad, Mickey should have an incentive to seek the shortest deal possible if it allows him to go to another team sooner.  He probably doesn't want to spend two years in the D-League because the team can afford to be patient since it has him locked up for four years.

Maybe. But how is he supposed to convince a team to give him anything more than the minimum next year? Have a good summer league again? No one is going to sign him to anything more than the minimum based off of that.

Mickey is a second rounder who is an undersized power forward. He should probably stop trying to play hard ball and just sign a deal.

If he impresses in practice and the few minutes he gets as a rookie, they will take that into account and find more minutes for him in year 2.  The roster will almost certainly look a lot different next year.

A la Fab Melo? I'm not quite sure we can use the D League to gauge value given the trend that marginal NBA players appear to be extremely successful in the D League, yet still demonstrating marginal talent on the real NBA court.

Based on summer league play I wonder if we could fetch a future first round pick from someone right now. I'd hate to lose him for nothing after this year.
