Btw, Lillard went 3-17 while CJ carried them to the WCF - so celtic fans can climb of dame’s nuts like he’s some vastly superior version of kyrie.  If kyrie has a stud like CJ on his team, maybe we would have made it a more interesting series.

You forgot to account that Dame accounted for 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. Gotta fit the narrative, I guess.  And unlike Kyrie, he deferred to CJ in crunch time. :P

And Kyrie didn’t? it’s not others were hitting their shots as well.

Jaylen says hi. He didn't shot well from the 3 but scored well inside. He's 45% in the entire Bucks series.

How many points did he average, it’s not like he produced like McCollum.
If you gave him many shots that Kyrie took, who knows. Lillard didn't shot more than CJ.

That’s just speculation, Brown is not the scorer CJ is.

Brown carried the entire offense last year on his back against the Bucks, what made you think he couldn't?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2018/04/17/jaylen-brown-21-becomes-youngest-celtics-player-score-30-points-playoff-game/526992002/

Last year's playoffs:

Game 2: 30 pts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC5J61TfmKo

Game 4: 34 pts

Against the Sixers after returning from injury:

Game 5: 24 pts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxh4GrwndBA

ECF:

Game 1: 23 pts

Game 2: 23 pts

Game 4: 25 pts

Game 6: 27 pts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qylB2qUKKU

But sure, it's just a speculation ::)
I don't know how you can really argue that Brown is as good a scorer as CJ McCollum. McCollum has a much more rounded and smooth offensive game. Better three point shooter, better mid-range, better from the charity stripe, better ball-handler and better passer.

However, McCollum didn't score more than 6.8PPG until he was 24, so there's that. Jaylen is also probably better at doing more with less, as he can force himself into the paint and use his athleticism and strength. There's also a 5 year age gap, so the comparison is a bit unfair. CJ is more consistent and more polished right now though

I'm not arguing that Brown is better scorer or is as good as CJ. My point is he can be relied on scoring when you needed buckets, especially back to the basket. If Kyrie iso is not working and you see Jaylen attacking the rim with success, you feed that hot hand, something Kyrie didn't do.

I think the more serious problem is that Brad never did this. He'd often bench people when they were hot just to force his often poor rotations.

I'm really sad the Celtics season is over. But seeing this makes me feel a bit better

If Embiid is ever going to be great, these are the moments that need to motivate him.

Hopefully for his sake he learned a thing or two from Jimmy Butler this season.

I'm not denying that. Brad's adjustments and rotations have left something to be desired, especially this season. But Kyrie is the PG of this team and their duty is to set up their teammates for good looks. Point guards are like the coach in the field.

People loves to crap on the sixers (me included) but at least their best player is showing emotions and fight until the end.

After Embiid's +40 last night he is now +80 in his 192 minutes in the series.  In the 96 minutes, when he isn't in the game the Sixers are -97.
  That is absolutely insane.
+10 in 45 minutes, team was -12 in the 3 minutes he was on the bench
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

They really need Simmons to step up. Or some other guys when Embiid sits.

Maybe he needs to take his diet more seriously - from all reports he is pretty slack with it.

Dame had a pretty mediocre series overall. He reminded more of 2018 Playoff Dame than the guy we saw last round against OKC.

I don't watch basketball much outside of the C's anymore.  But the times I've watched Philly the difference when Embiid is on the court and when he is not is remarkable.  Especially on defense.  He is an MVP caliber difference maker.

The Sixers also don't have a player making $30 million who scores 9 points total in the last two playoff games

I feel like they made a mistake making Ben a point guard. He would benefit from playing with a legit PG, he'd learn how to work off the ball bc that part of his development has really stagnated. I get he's a great passer and they want to emphasize that in his game, but it's so easy to get him mentally out of the game when he doesn't have the ball in his hands.

Agree 100%

There’s a reason he was a PF at LSU. He could still be a nightmare wing/swing matchup. Needs a better coach too

And instead of using assets to bring in Tobias Harris - who I like as a player but he's not worth the contract he's about to get this offseason - they could've went after a PG like Mike Conley. That could've addressed shooting and shored up their guard defense.

Raptors won this trade by a landslide whether Kawhi Leonard leaves or not.

They wanted clutch playoff performance, an ECF appearance, and iconic moments. He got the Raptors that.

I really hope they curb-stomp those phony Bucks and win it all. Can't stand Milwaukee and Golden State.
