He stated his opinion.  While I feel that if the C's don't get AD then Kyrie may leave but if the C's get AD and ship out Rozier, Smart, Tatum freeing up plenty of minutes for everyone then Kyrie stays.  I don't think he stays with the team in tact unless the C's win it all this year.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.

He often knows things, since he has player/GM connections, but he has also made some boneheaded comparisons/analysts/comments. But that being said, I do believe there is some concern/worry. The recent play of the Celtics have shown that we can also be a very great team with or without Kyrie. The problem is we clearly need Kyrie in the playoffs, so any level of trust and communication must be heavily supported between both sides Ainge/FO and Kyrie.

Here's a golden one from his 2015 player NBA draft comparisons...

Quote
Full list of first round comparisons:
Karl-Anthony Towns = Patrick Ewing
D’Angelo Russell = Lenny Wilkens
Jahlil Okafor = Brook Lopez
Mario Hezonja = Chandler Parsons
Willie-Cauley Stein = Tyson Chandler
Stanley Johnson = Caron Butler
Frank Kaminsky = Ryan Anderson
Justise Winslow = Metta World Peace
Myles Turner = Chris Bosh
Trey Lyles = Carlos Boozer
Devin Booker = Klay Thompson
Cameron Payne = Brandon Jennings
Kelly Oubre = Trevor Ariza
Terry Rozier = Eric Bledsoe
Rashad Vaughn = Dion Waiters
Sam Dekker = Wally Szczerbiak
Jerian Grant = Greivis Vasquez
Delon Wright = Jordan Clarkson
Bobby Portis = Rasheed Wallace
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson = Josh Smith
Tyus Jones = Shabazz Napier
R.J. Hunter = Kevin Martin

Even Dirk is baffled by it:

Best part of the draft is jalen's comparisons....

Whether Kyrie is here or not is out of my control (obviously) so I've long ago stopped worrying about it. Enjoy the time he is here and if he's still here next year then all the better. If not then we move on. There hasn't been any serious indication that he's not going to re-sign in any case but talking heads need things to talk about now that the trade deadline is past.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I think they're a contender either way, though without him, I think they focus on bringing in someone else either through trade or free agency.  I think Rozier is kind of removing himself from consideration based on his performance to date so next year's #1 PG could be someone we haven't talked about yet.

Rose has connections with management and some agents/players so him saying this (and the way he said it) leads me to think he's got pretty good intel that Kyrie may in fact be looking elsewhere.  But as has been proven, everything with Kyrie is subject to change.

I am with Ozgod here.  If he signs elsewhere, we are still a very good team (especially if we don't gut the team to get A Davis).  We did not give up a lot to acquire him and we play pretty well without him.  With time the young core will learn to close out tough playoff games.

I am a patient fan and don't feel the need to buy a championship next year at the expense of the future.  I am in this for the long haul.

Of course he says this on the heels of a Cs win without Kyrie.  Then the clip will be uploaded to youtube, the majority of the league dislikes the Celtics, therefore many clicks, many clicks.  Same old story.  Flavor of the week.

Everyone needs to realize that what espn says is 90% speculation, content for the masses.  The majority of it is not true.  Once that’s realized it’s all pretty funny to watch and I laugh more than I don’t when I see it.

What kills me is that people really hear this stuff then go to work or school and tell people what they heard is real because espn said it.  We get conditioned that the news is real and espn displays their content in such an evening news fashion that we make the connection.  It’s not real.

right. this is not even a news channel. it is 24/7 sports entertainment channel. people need to stop taking these talking head clowns as SERIOUS REPUTABLE SOURCES.  They have to fill content for 24/7. think about it people. Just pay them no mind. carry on

Jalen "knows" as much as you or I.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Ainge said on the Sports Hub that the Celts and Kyrie have a "wedding scheduled on July 1st." So unless we hear differently,I have every reason to believe Ainge over Jalen Rose.

I truly think if he leaves us, his career is not going to be remembered like he wants it to be. Even if he goes to NY and wins a ring, he’s going to have to do it with someone like KD or AD (and Zion?) who will get more credit.

He can build a legacy here as a Hall-of-Famer and win multiple titles as the face of the franchise.

If he’s unhappy here, and DA is willing to bring in AD for him and that’s not enough, he probably won’t be happy anywhere.

Playing for Dolan and the media scrutiny in NY? That’ll get old fast for him.

Let’s just try to maximize this season and see where we stand.

With that said, let’s go full circle and bring back IT for the MLE.

I haven't heard anyone else say this but I was curious to get feedback on a thought I had concerning Kyrie resigning this summer.  To me it makes total sense for Kyrie and the Celtics for him to sign no matter what.  I think of his situation as similar to Blake Griffin's, not exact but some similarities.  Kyrie will get more money if he resigns with the Celtics than going to another team.  If they are also able to trade for AD then he gets paired with a top 5 player in Boston.  Worst case scenario, if he is unhappy a year into his new contract with the Celtics, we can trade him.  This way we wouldn't just lose him with no return.  Any feedback on my thinking?
