So, Rondo has played with Wade and now will be teammates with LeBron.

Perk has played with LeBron. Jeff Green has played with LeBron and Wade. Eddie House has played with LeBron and Wade.

I think it's time now for any of the Big Three's remaining bad blood about Ray leaving to play with the nemesis Heat should be over.

I'm actually more bummed about Rondo to LAL than Boogie to GSW.

GSW has always been in the driver's seat.  And frankly, they've done all the right things to deserve it.  But, somehow LAL has gathered all of the guys I'd most like to watch for a season in Rondo, Lance, KCP, McGee.  It's the All-Dysregulation Team.  And I'm not ashamed to love it.

They need to get Swaggy back, unretire Andrew Bynum and really get this party lit.

I disagree that Rondo and Lebron are a poor fit.  Lebron's life will be easier with Rondo's brain and ability to direct people and set guys up.  And Rondo will set Lebron up for easy buckets in a way that Lebron has never had before.  These are the two highest IQ guys in the league on the same team (or 2 among the highest).

This will be true until he kicks out to him a few times.

These guys know each other's weaknesses.  I'm pretty sure Lebron signed off on the Rondo signing.  It's true as the team stands now there will be a lot of bricks..but there will also be a lot of dunks and alley oops and some excellent defense.

I agree they're not going anywhere this year.  It's next year that a team to worry about will emerge...

It is interesting that Rondo has managed to still get a decent contract post-Celtics on all these short term deals.

Rondo needs the ball, LeBron needs the ball, Ball needs the ball.

This is overrated as a problem when the IQ is so high.  That's only a problem with the low IQ ball needers...

I honestly think it’s a good move for LA. Lebron needs another playmaker and both he and Rondo have the ability to make their teammates look good. I honestly feel like if I were LA, I would go all in on a Kawhi deal. I don’t see why he would want to waste 1 year of LBJ. I’d give up Ingram, Ball, Deng and 2 unprotected firsts easily.

Despite the famous incidents Metta was a bizarrely stabilizing influence more often than not in his Laker years. He and Fisher were probably Kobe's most reliable teammates.

BTW my Laker fan friend is absolutely furious that Rondo is playing there and LeBron might get him put in Lonzo's starting spot. So there's definitely some comedy happening already.

Makes sense if you're convinced Lonzo is going to be really good as most Lakers fans naturally are.

If they look at Lonzo as a potential trade piece Rondo makes a whole lot more sense.

It's much more that he still loathes Rondo from the Big 3 years than loves Lonzo.

Completely fair.

I forgot that Lonzo missed half the year and just had knee surgery. They needed some sort of security even if they don't plan on moving him.

Rondo, whom Deveney states has wanted to join the Lakers since 2015, could take the starting point guard job away from Lonzo Ball, writes Sam Amick of USA Today. A source tells Amick that the L.A. front office has promised Rondo the chance to compete for a starting spot.

Just gross. Argh.
