ESPN says AD had a new list and we aren't on it.

That list aside, I'd be shocked if AD is a Celtic next year. There's nothing to indicate he wants to be here, and Ainge would have to make a massive gamble on the hope of convincing him.

At this point, I would still be willing to take the gamble since it is AD. The other thing that isn't talked about nearly enough is that these two teams may very well use up their cap space this summer and would be unable to sign him next summer. It made perfect sense for AD to try and force his way to LAL during the past deadline - it would have given him two postseasons to contend with Lebron. But Lebron is only getting older, how does LAL not sign a guy like Butler if he wants to sign?

i really hope team does not trade for Davis.

I firmly believe, as great as he is he cannot bring a championship here with what would be left after the deal. And then he probably runs in offseason.

Just build around the jays.
You have horford and hayward as assets to work with and multiple picks to work with. Can easily work with that.

Get a good young pg to play behind Smart.
Get a good young pf to play behind Horford.
Sign a vet wing who can help teach and groom the jays
Sign a solid center to let horford play pf. The baynes signing a couple seasons ago was a perfect example of what a solid bigman can do for the team.

ie: sign vince carter, sign Dedmon, draft NAW, draft Samanic, draft thybulle or okpala or langford.

Done. Screw Davis and Screw Kyrie.

Smart/NAW/Wannamaker
Brown/Carter/draft
Tatum/Hayward/Semi
Horford/Samanic/Yabu
Dedmon/Baynes/Williams

That team is easily a secind round threat based on no internal improvement. If the jays and hayward all improve they are contenders in the east finals based upon free agency.
That is a mediocre team.  Probably like the Nets of this year and frankly has no real path to title contention at any point in the next 5 years without a major free agent acquisition (or a miracle draft pick).

WHAT?????

That is a very solid, very good team.
Excellent defense, perhaps top in the league defense, good shooting, good scoring, deep bench, that is a team that is at least as good as this last seasons team.

Basically losing Irving, but gaining more improvement from Brawn and Tatum, ideally an improvement from Hayward, higher end rookies and replacing a broken baynes with Dedmon.
No, it's an average team.

OK, Name 15 teams this past season better than that team.
in a 30 team league, average would be considered between 11-20.   Here's the teams that would have been better:
1. Milwaukee;  2.  Toronto;  3.  Philly;  4.  Indy;  5. Brooklyn.  6. GSW;  7.  Houston;  8.  Portland;  9. Denver;  10.  Utah;  11. OKC;  12. SAS;  13.  Clippers.
of those teams, only Indy and Brooklyn finished with worse records than the C's last year and Indy was 1 game behind while playing the end of the season without Oladipo.   Others could make the argument that Orlando and possibly Detroit would have also been better and I wouldn't argue against it.  so, that's a minimum of 13 better teams and possibly the 15 you requested which by the way, would put the C's in the lower half of the league's teams.

The proposed roster is clearly inferior to the one we trotted out last year.  not even close.  I have serious doubts the proposed roster makes the playoffs and suspect 38 wins would be optimistic.  Smart's not the scorer that Kyrie is and Dedmon is overrated ---  a decent player but overrated nonetheless.   Brown, Tatum and Hayward would all have to make signficant improvements to sniff the playoffs and if all 3 are on the floor at the same time, the team is seriously lacking height unless Hayward is playing PG (which he may be halfway decent at).

Edit nm read Zo as Zion.

That seems like a poor return for Beal, Lakers fantasy is my guess.

Really? Lonzo Ball and the 4th pick for Beal? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Seems like Kyler just throwing more stuff against the wall to see what sticks.

Twice the guy has had lists of where he wants to play, neither time he lists the Celtics. It would be GM malpractice for Ainge to risk Tatum in this scenario.

WAS would have to be high on Lonzo for sure and LAL isn't even giving up Kuzma. I can't say it doesn't fit the bill, but I am not sure I love it for WAS.

EDIT: Hey Faf, I tried to edit my response before you saw it (because I saw your edit). I guess I didn't fix it in time. And, yeah, there is only one Zo. Have a TP for your troubles.

There is a reason he interacts with just about anyone he can on twitter, hustle for attention with limited sourcing.

LOL NOP are not trading Zion for Beal.

That's not what it says. Lonzo and the 4th would go to WAS (they would have to be high on Lonzo apparently). NOP is only giving up AD in this case
See edit.

Lonzo Ball doesn't get a shortened nickname in my brain at this point. Went to the real Zo (Morning) and then Zion.

Let’s be real - the dude, and I mean Rich Pau... err Davis, has had like five supposed lists that change as often as I change my underwear. Hell, Davis himself said on tv that he didn’t have any lists of teams other than the 29 non-NOLA teams!

Don’t buy into all the obviously planted rumors in silly season. They’re trying to discourage smaller market teams from attempting to trade for him, and it’s a last ditch effort to pair him with Lebron and not waste another year, as it’s very likely that LAL ends up losing their cap space this summer and may not have room for him next year, let alone the whole Lebron rapidly aging thing maybe giving Davis second thoughts about LA in 2020.

You’d think people would realize this same pattern that happens every summer with every big name star free agent or trade candidate, especially after the PG situation last year. It’s the same ole LA/NY NBA exceptionalism that is repeated every summer.

No. D-level NBA guy, similar to someone like Keith Smith.

I literally can’t find this anywhere else besides Kyler, which should tell you all you need to know.
