There is no way NYK gives up both Porzingis and the #1 (Zion) should they nab the #1. Porzingis was a top 10 player in the league before this injury. He gives you 95% of what Anthony Davis does. You don't give up that and the #1 overall pick to upgrade to AD.
I like Porzingis, but this is far from the truth. He wasn't even averaging 23PPG on 18.5FGA, he sucks at rebounding and he's an inferior defender to AD. Not even close to being a top 10 player in the league, let alone being 95% of AD in my opinion.

AD is quite literally doubling the rebounds /game numbers Kristaps put up in his last season. Add to the fact that he's 7'3" and potentially injury prone, I can imagine his value not being too high.

Porzingis' rebounds are artificially low because they keep putting him next to a center. Play him in his natural position at center and Porzingis is up rebounding 11-12rpg.
That seems like a cop-out to me. His rebounds per minute have gotten worse every year, and he's played alongside Robin Lopez, Joakim Noah and Enes Kanter. Being a power forward hasn't stopped Davis, Blake Griffen, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, Draymond Green, Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors or Taj Gibson from being better rebounders than KP, and none of those guys are 7' tall (besides maybe AD), let alone 7'3"

It is because he is 7-3 that it is harder for him. He is not as mobile as those guys are. He cannot cover as much ground to get to those rebounds from the PF position defensively. That is why he is a center and not a power forward. Watch him when he is closer to the basket. He rebounds his own area very well. Where he struggles is rebounding outside of his area which is normal for a 7-3 player.

Porzingis does a very good job on the boards when he is played as a lone big man on the court. He is also a much larger matchup problem for opponents as a center.

The Knicks keep screwing up - as usual - by keeping him at PF.
Idk, guess I just disagree that he's a passable rebounder for his size and athleticism, let alone a good one. Guess we'll see if he ever gets to play center though!

Two Things

1. It seems to me the reports about AD not having Boston as a top target were a bit overblown in that it only applies IF Kyrie doesn't re-sign here. If that were the case, then yeah, that's honestly understandable and I'm not sure how even we could complain about that on AD's end (he's coming to join Kyrie and company, not Rozier and company). But Kyrie has said multiple times he's willing to come back here and frankly the only one pushing this narrative is Windhorst (aka Lebron's puppet). I respect Haynes but lets be real, he said "Hayward to Boston" BEFORE Hayward even made a decision (he was wrong but ultimately wasn't - fortunate for him and us) and he literally states he "heard from a source" whereas Kyrie admitted it in a public setting AT TD Garden  ::)

2. The Pelicans response to the trade rumors was fantastic. It seems clear even they are irked about the Lakers, Lebron and Rich Paul connection in this saga and they basically called them out for it. Also, when they say they'll do things in "OUR timeline", I think that's basically saying they have zero problem waiting until the summer to conduct business. Even AD according to reports told Gentry he'd play out the season.

Also, the NBA will claim they find nothing about Lebron, Rich Paul and tampering (duh), but clearly the Pelicans know this. Why else would they say those things like tampering issues and "do things on our timeline" in their statement? Pelicans will definitely hesitate to do business with the Lakers just like the Spurs did with the Lakers.

Someone pointed out that the timing of the request may be less about giving the Lakers a head start and more about Anthony Davis feeling uncomfortable with letting the Pelicans make a trade before the deadline in an attempt to appease him when he knows he's leaving.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle

David Aldridge: The Celtics are much more appealing to AD if Kyrie re-signs, but “if Irving isn’t there, it wouldn’t definitely be a deal-killer to Davis staying in Boston, from what I hear.”

Well, that is different to the recently-posted RealGM article I'm reading which says...

Quote from: Chris Haynes
Anthony Davis has ruled out the Boston Celtics as one of his favored destinations following a trade request away from the New Orleans Pelicans.

So, does AD only want to go to LA?

It means that a lot of folks are feeding the media narratives, some of which are false.  Both Haynes and Aldridge have reliable sources, but at least one of them is carrying water here.

Stop buying into the narratives that these guys are trying to sell, people!

EDIT: I mean, are people really oblivious to what’s going on here? Beyond the seemingly perfectly aligned timing, this is clearly Paul/Lebron/Magic/Pelinka trying to get AD to LA BEFORE the trade deadline, because they know they have no shot if this goes to the summer. That’s their only shot of getting him.

If Irving is serious about "legacy" and wanting to win multiple rings with his own team

then he can speak to his agent/call Danny and ask him to workout a 2 year extension right now

2 year with 2nd year option  (I believe someone stated that, if he did this, then Celts can get Davis without trading Irving)

I don't know if Danny will ask him for this sacrifice.... but if Danny wants Davis that badly and can't risk losing him to the Fakers....then he will have to

It has to be 2 guaranteed years. And honestly, Irving shouldn't do that. He'd be giving up tens of millions of dollars and taking a below market deal for a GM that could trade his mother.

This is a business. GMs should do what's best for the franchise and players should do what's best for themselves.

What do you think Danny's mother is worth?

A low second rounder?

thats ^ the whole ball game.   LA fans are worried , if AD does not come , Ive been reading alot comments from fan s are notnso, sure Bron can lure the best talent on his own anymore.   Nobody jumped to join LA when he signed earlynto, give LA plenty of time to,sign two moremmajor stars .  They got NONE.    If the AD ploy fails ....they might not get a calibre player of AD , KD or Leonard.

Beal and Gasol they can get .....that might disappear too ...if they wait too long

Brad Turner (LA Times) was just on Mason & Ireland.

- Was asked about the deal he tweeted out. He said NO "also interested in BI" but Lonzo, Kuz and Zu are the Laker players that intrigued NO the most is what he was told.

- NO thinks they can build a team for the future around those 3. They really like Lonzo and believe he'll be better out of the LA spotlight. Turner didn't go into detail on Kuz or Zu.

- Thinks there's an 80% chance that AD ends up on the Lakers.

If it happens I hope it happens soon so that Ainge can move on from the davis pipedream

Its getting like NYK expecting lebron years back.

Scal said that the reason NO makes a deal now is to dump heavy salary on LA that they want off their books.

I think that adding 3 Lakers to Julius Randle is exactly the team LA had last year. Just terrible. Lakers have no picks they can include.

Reports of AD requesting a trade and AD not wanting to go to Boston and Irving looking like he might leave Boston. All three reports come out in order in short time from different sources.

Are we to believe this is just coincidence all three reports came out within hours of each other from 3 different sources?

This is so obviously a Rich Paul orchestrated effort to tamper and get Davis to LA like Paul's boss Lebron wants.

Come on people. This is so obvious.

Agree 100 percent. NO controls what Boston can do. If NO moves him in 10 days..then Boston has to decide what they want to do...make trades or just keep the picks and build with young players.
