If the Knicks get a top 2 pick, they can make a really compelling offer, while still keeping Porzingis:

Zion/Barrett + Knox + Robinson + Ntilikina

If they include Porzingis, then it's a done deal for sure. We have to hope that the Knicks don't get lucky at the lottery. The other tanking teams aren't a threat I think, since they won't push for immediate success. Also if something strange happens like Sacramento pick goes #1 (to Philly) or a LA team jumps into the top 4, that could turn the tables. Let's just assume that the Sac pick jumps to #2-4  ;D.

The Suns could turn the corner super fast adding AD to Devin Booker.  (Remember when AD joins a team, they will become a Free Agent destination almost instantly).  What about the Bulls?  Washington?  There are a number of teams who, if the ping pong balls for their way, could make a very compelling offer.

The timing couldn't be better for the Pelicans right now.  They are going to be able to pick between a host of potential franchise cornerstones.  Zion, Porzingis, Ayton, Tatum, Simmons, all these are amongst the names that will be in play.

It would be nice to see some sort of hammer hit them.

This is true, but 1 question is will some of those teams be hesitant to give up the farm knowing Davis could bolt a year from this summer?  (He would have 2 years left but the 2nd year is a player option).

NBA spokesman: “We commenced an investigation this morning upon reading the reports regarding Anthony Davis.  That process is ongoing.” One reason: an on-the-record request for a trade by an agent or a player. Davis could be fined.

David Aldridge: The Celtics are much more appealing to AD if Kyrie re-signs, but “if Irving isn’t there, it wouldn’t definitely be a deal-killer to Davis staying in Boston, from what I hear.”

There is no way NYK gives up both Porzingis and the #1 (Zion) should they nab the #1. Porzingis was a top 10 player in the league before this injury. He gives you 95% of what Anthony Davis does. You don't give up that and the #1 overall pick to upgrade to AD.
I like Porzingis, but this is far from the truth. He wasn't even averaging 23PPG on 18.5FGA, he sucks at rebounding and he's an inferior defender to AD. Not even close to being a top 10 player in the league, let alone being 95% of AD in my opinion.

AD is quite literally doubling the rebounds /game numbers Kristaps put up in his last season. Add to the fact that he's 7'3" and potentially injury prone, I can imagine his value not being too high.

Porzingis' rebounds are artificially low because they keep putting him next to a center. Play him in his natural position at center and Porzingis is up rebounding 11-12rpg.
That seems like a cop-out to me. His rebounds per minute have gotten worse every year, and he's played alongside Robin Lopez, Joakim Noah and Enes Kanter. Being a power forward hasn't stopped Davis, Blake Griffen, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, Draymond Green, Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors or Taj Gibson from being better rebounders than KP, and none of those guys are 7' tall (besides maybe AD), let alone 7'3"

It is because he is 7-3 that it is harder for him. He is not as mobile as those guys are. He cannot cover as much ground to get to those rebounds from the PF position defensively. That is why he is a center and not a power forward. Watch him when he is closer to the basket. He rebounds his own area very well. Where he struggles is rebounding outside of his area which is normal for a 7-3 player.

Porzingis does a very good job on the boards when he is played as a lone big man on the court. He is also a much larger matchup problem for opponents as a center.

The Knicks keep screwing up - as usual - by keeping him at PF.

If you break down everything, the sequence of events goes like this

leaked bombshell Monday morning about ad wanting out

Random leaks about Kyrie wanting out. 76ers don't have a chance..

Pels say AD told them privately over the weekend (not Monday morning) that he wants out. Pels demand NBA investigate for tampering

Nba says they're investigating

Good thing he has already committed multiple times to resign here, regardless of whatever Rich Paul/Lebron-fueled reports are out there at the moment.  ;)
