everyone getting testy over something that had a 10% chance in happening not happening.

Team is hot mess right now, players arent gelling, I hope someting happens with Davis soon so that the team can make moves to improve as opposed to sitting on thumbs playing the what if game

Hot mess?

We’ve won 5 of 6, and since the bad start, 20 of 29.  We’ve got a top 10 offense and a top 5 defense.

Team has not been good and have been winning in the sheer will of kyrie

... plus the play of Horford and Tatum and Smart and Morris and Brown and Baynes and so on and so forth.

In other words, the team has been playing well.  I mean, they've got the third best point differential in the NBA despite a mediocre first 20 games.  The Celts are a very good team, and they've been playing like it recently.

I think the Celtics are 4 bad losses away from having a pretty darn good year thus far. Beat Phoenix, NYK and the Magic twice and the team is 1.5 games from first at 34-15. When you think about the whole season in that manner, the 3rd best point differential makes a lot of sense.

What do you think about Scal suggesting NOLA will trade with LA mostly to do with a salary dump? He was adamant on Mannixs podcast about it. I don’t really buy it unless NOLA ownership are really that cheap. Aren’t they in danger of being relocated? Why wouldn’t a star like Tatum help that instead of a clean salary book. Which Laker is as good as JB even is right now? Ingram?

So I've been browsing Pelicans forums/sites and also spoke with a real-life friend of mine who is a Pelicans fan (condolences to him lol), and it seems even they'd rather ship him to a team not named the Lakers. They seem real irked with them and Lebron (as they should be).

My friend prefers he either goes to PHI (in a package for Simmons) or to us for our package. He thinks trading for Beal would be pointless unless somehow another star or really high pick was coming there.

And on the Pelicans blog (The Bird Writes), some seem to want them to just hold AD until the summer but also play him less to keep him healthy and to also increase their own pick value.

You must be new around here.

On celticsstrong, we only allow the most optimistic take regarding this team, and once we're proven wrong at the end of a season, we simply move the goalposts to shift the blame onto secondary factors.

Everything else is considered "trolling". Have a TP, anyway.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Yeah, I guess being optimistic is a crime around here. Give me a break...

Also you act like there isn't a great amount of negativity on this blog yet there clearly is anyways.

Boston has a unique backchannel: Irving. Irving and Davis maintain a close friendship: “Kyrie and Anthony Davis are boys,” former NBA forward and NBC Sports Boston analyst Brian Scalabrine told The Crossover NBA podcast. “I think they text like every day.” Irving would be a powerful recruiter next summer. – via Sports Illustrated

I'm afraid that Davis making a point to get this info out there before trade deadline is a clear signal he is less interested in Boston and wants to give Lakers every opportunity to trade for him now - but that would be a short window given James' age and the loss of a young core that would leave with the trade.

Reports are that the Pelicans wanted to be buyers at this year's trade deadline. His timing might have to do with him wanting to give NO an opportunity to keep the few assets they have left.

Wait, so all that 2017 LaVar nonsense is gonna have his son move to a different team now or what lol. Speaking of whom, the guy's been awfully quiet these days. Guess LeBron stole all the spotlight from him

I mean, between the Rich Paul/Lebron shady tampering stuff, not having your richest trade suitor in play until July, a lackluster LA offer, and now this easily foreseeable Ball family headache, why in the hell would you even consider a trade with LA, let alone before the summer?!

Also, seems like several folks in the Pelicans organization tried to steer Davis away from partnering with Rich Paul before he ultimately did, leading to even more reason for them to not want to deal him to the Lakers: http://twitter.com/SInow/status/1090082147690573825.

Woj on tv (sports center) said it doesn't make sense for pelicans to make the deal before the deadline because the Lakers offer will still be there in summer. He expects them to wait and see what Boston wants to offer in summer

Plus, how stupid of an organization do you have to be to trade Davis to the team you have twice accused of tampering with Davis? And to do so without allowing the team with the most assets from even being able to give you a final offer?
