Imagine how sucky it would be for lebron, Davis, and RONDO to beat us to the finals and win championships wearing Lakers colors, and surpassing our total 17 championships In the process

Ultimate defeat

They would tie it. And only 12 for the city.
they wouldn't just win 1

If Davis really wants LAL I wouldnt offer anything for him in the offseason.

I would want 100% assurance that he is not going to run to lebrony and Rich in LA

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I wouldn't worry about it. Once the Celtics get involved, everyone's offers increase, big time.  New Orleans would be absolutely stupid not to wait until the summer.

Philly can put together a better offer than LA anyways.

Exactly. It makes sense for them to wait because then it's a bidding war and you take the best package available.

Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, Zubak, and two unprotected picks as suggested by Nick Wright on twitter,   that probably does get it done.   I could see the Pelicans doing that deal if the Lakers really decide to go get AD and are willing to give up the farm.  Sucks for us.

The Pels would be idiots to make the deal now. NOBODY can offer what Boston can. But will the give into Davis and his requests? That is the big question.

If Lakers giveup Kuzma, Ingram, Hart

Then no Celts cant beat that

Unless Kyrie is offered bc Danny is not going to trade Tatum plus Brown

You're talking about a dude who trade Isaiah Thomas while he's nursing a hip injury that he got trying to carry the Celtics to the ECF, and that's after he played a day before his sister died.

You think he won't hesitate to trade Tatum and/or Brown?

He will hesitate to trade both

You got to remember he was unwilling to include either for Irving

Everyone knows Cavs wanted either Brown or Tatum.  But Ainge said no and waited until the very end to get Irving for a perceived good trade (Cavs viewpoint)

Not because he doesn't want to, but because he didn't want to include either AND the Brooklyn pick.

Ball is headache , not a prize ...most of LA would rather be though with him .   Hart is much more valued now .  Ball is expendable and many GMs don't even want him and his baggage.

Absolutely no way does it get it done.  Davis isn't a free agent this year.  They don't lose him on July 1.  The Pelicans get exactly one shot and trading a player of his caliber and they are going to wait until everyone can make their best pitch and force others to drive up the price.  This is Rich Paul trying to goad the Pelicans into making a panic move because the Lakers probably will not have the best package during the summer.

New Orleans is in the driver seat. They don't need to panic.  He's still there for another year if they want him.

Yeah, two picks in the 22-30 range is not going to get it done.

Celtics are in the drivers seat with our pick stash plus Jaylen and Tatum.

I still think we could still put a few different combinations together that would trump this offer starting with Tatum and the Grizzlies pick.  Ball seems to have lost value especially, and Ingrim and Kuzma aren’t as good as Tatum.  That Grizzlies pick could be top 5, and 2 unprotected firsts from LA are probably middling picks not high lottery picks.

I would hope that's what they're looking for.  Not exactly a hot spot for free agents.  Would expect them (if they're a competent front office which I really don't know if they are or not) to value accumulating draft picks.

Really? You wouldn't rather wait to see who gets the number 1 pick in the draft.  What if Washington gets the number 1 pick?  I'd rather have Beal or Wall, and Zion Williamson than anything in that above offer. Literally anything.

Ainge has been preparing for an AD trade for years. This is his holy grail to pair AD with Kyrie. He is most certainly trading Tatum and Brown both along with our pick stash if that's what it takes.

Pelicans I am sure will not send him to Boston without getting Tatum.

Basically....you just nailed the only chance this is not a DONE Laker deal.    This early pushing AD out the door could be a way to force Danny to,PROMISE  ..NOW ....a specific trade will include Tatum . or else they might be inclined to take the Lakers mother load .

In that case Boston might still be in the running ....IF this is away of getting a promise of,a mother load from another team that is bigger than LA 's .

It s a slim  hope.

LA .....has spent a bundle on Le BuM ,  with out Davis and Kawhi they are not beating GS ....even if LeBum lives anothe 50 years.

Rich Paul is a de facto GM for the Lakers, same as he was in Cleveland. He is making the deals behind the scenes and the NBA can do nothing to stop him. He and LeTurd are driving this ship. They will be the ones that try to circumvent the tampering rules with gutless Adam Silver looks the other way.

Exactly. If you are the Pelicans, what you are looking for in an AD trade is quality not quantity. If you can get a potential superstar young guy in return like Tatum, plus a future lottery pick, it definitely beats out getting multiple lesser prospects and late 1sts.
