The Pels would be idiots to make the deal now. NOBODY can offer what Boston can. But will the give into Davis and his requests? That is the big question.

If Lakers giveup Kuzma, Ingram, Hart

Then no Celts cant beat that

Unless Kyrie is offered bc Danny is not going to trade Tatum plus Brown

You're talking about a dude who trade Isaiah Thomas while he's nursing a hip injury that he got trying to carry the Celtics to the ECF, and that's after he played a day before his sister died.

You think he won't hesitate to trade Tatum and/or Brown?

He will hesitate to trade both

You got to remember he was unwilling to include either for Irving

Everyone knows Cavs wanted either Brown or Tatum.  But Ainge said no and waited until the very end to get Irving for a perceived good trade (Cavs viewpoint)

I wouldn't worry about it. Once the Celtics get involved, everyone's offers increase, big time.  New Orleans would be absolutely stupid not to wait until the summer.

Philly can put together a better offer than LA anyways.

Does New Orleans have a competent management team?  That's what worries me.  There's a lot of bad front offices out there.

only read up to page 13, so perhaps this has been stated already.

But for me the untouchables are

Kyrie, tatum, Smart.

Brown is middling ground for me, will give him up if need be.

absolutely being offered up to even a third team if need be.
Rozier, Morris, Hayward, Horford.

Kyrie/Smart/Tatum/Davis/Williams

that is a top team. easily. 3 guys who can score at all nba levels. 3 guys who can defend at all nba levels. shooters, ball handlers, passers, playmaker. lineup has everything you could ask for.

I wonder if Kyrie can be talked into extending for a year so that we can trade for Davis now, then sign his supermax then.

Trade Kyrie and whatever for Davis. Do it now.

Not happening.

The intention is pairing Kyrie with Davis.  Not trading one away for the other.

Kyrie is replaceable. Davis is not.

Oh yeah?  Who are you replacing Kyrie with & pairing with AD and becoming a bonafide championship contender?

This a star driven league.  Multi-star teams are the ones winning championships.  You pair Kyrie & AD and build around that.    Ainge isn't shipping Kyrie out of town to bring in AD.

Want to bet? Ainge will trade Kyrie in a heartbeat, if he can get Davis. Kyrie is overrated. Wings and bigs win championships, not point guards. If we get Davis for Kyrie, we have a young core that will be together for years.

NOP wouldn’t want Kyrie, as he’d be gone by July 2nd.

So Ainge would have to send Kyrie elsewhere (either on a 3-team trade or a separate deal first).

Do you know what kind of fire Ainge would be playing with if he started calling other teams shopping Kyrie? Word would eventually get out, and you think he’s the type that will not have a problem with that come July?

So basically, if he starts making calls, he BETTER trade him. I don’t know who other than the Knicks would give up a lot for him (maybe the Nets?), and I don’t see what they have that we or NO would want. Maybe Russell and Dinwiddie for Kyrie... then Russell, Brown and filler plus a couple picks for Davis?

Kyrie and Brown for AD and Dinwiddie? Then you have to trust Rozier to handle PG duties for the foreseeable future (which wouldn’t be the worst thing with Hayward, Horford, Smart, and Davis all capable facilitators).

Sorry, I did not make it clear. Trade Kyrie in a three way with LA or whoever. Rozier did great last year as the starter.

Point guards don't win championships. Wings and bigs do.

My random thoughts on this:

Kyrie will not be traded to NOP.  Why would they want him?  He won't resign.

Kyrie has to go somewhere or we can't even offer any trade (due to the Rose rule).

So we would need to do a 3-way with Kyrie going to NYK and Porzingis going to NOP (along with many other parts involved).

I will be stunned if Kyrie is traded.

This whole thing is not about NOP bluffing or whatever.  This is all about Davis.  NOP does not want to trade him and isn't going to self-impose a deadline on themselves just because Davis and LeBron what to do a trade now.  They will still have plenty of leverage for a trade after the season.

It is hard to gauge bit seems unlikely the best possible deal will come at the deadline vs. off season.

my feeling this was set up to make Davis a Laker .  Le whiner can't win with out him .

This announcement comes now,at the bequest of Magic and Whiner and Rich behind the curtains pulling the strings.

Nobody but the NBA could step,in and stop it .  It obviously been going on a long time.   Lakers don't want the him to go on the market this summer.   So they pulled strings ....their agent manager and rich all in making plans behind the sceens

I stated the same thing earlier, NBA wants Davis with Lebron in LA. They want Lakers relevant, they want lebron winning.

then the whole Rich Paul thing.

its why they never levied fines for the borderline tampering that has been going on all season.

no. If its Kyrie to new york, it'll be a 3 way involving another team like Charlotte sending us kemba, and charlotte+boston sending picks and players to new york

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2817994-trading-packages-and-landing-spots-for-anthony-davis

The primary link to the Lakers is Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who is the player agent for both James and Davis. That connection is a conflict of interest, at least in the view of several teams.

"I'm not worried about James tampering to the media about AD. It's that James and Paul are mafioso mob bosses of the NBA that's the problem," a Western Conference general manager said.

Commissioner Adam Silver isn't fining James for saying he'd love to play with Davis. There's nothing to do about James and Davis sharing the same agent, as it's common for NBA players to share agents.

If Paul was hired by Davis to get him out of New Orleans and on to a contender—as suggested by one executive—and specifically to the Lakers (as several other front-office personnel said was the reason), then Davis has already written off the Pelicans' financial advantage.

Per Sam Amick of The Athletic, Davis "does not see the extra $87.3 million that New Orleans is expected to offer in a five-year, $239.5 million supermax extension this summer as a factor in his eventual decision."

None of the several executives polled expect Davis to be dealt before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, but most believe Paul will box in the Pelicans before the draft in June.

"It's going to be up to [Pelicans general manager] Dell [Demps] to decide where Davis plays next," an Eastern Conference executive said. "Paul will get him traded, but it's going to be up to Demps to get the best deal."

Ainge has been preparing for an AD trade for years. This is his holy grail to pair AD with Kyrie. He is most certainly trading Tatum and Brown both along with our pick stash if that's what it takes.

Pelicans I am sure will not send him to Boston without getting Tatum.
