Lakers and Celtics wanted AD, Knicks wanted Zion.

And looks like the Pelicans end up with both  :P

Yup.  So much for that plan!

Why are we so convinced Zion would convince AD to stay? If anything he’s replacing him.

Boston has no leverage other than multiple first round picks.

Lakers and Knicks can put together a better package than Boston can.

I don’t get it. Rookie level Zion is a worse player than Cousins was. Hell, he’ll be a Julius Randle level producer at best (initially).

Why would AD stay when he doesn’t want to?

Zion is an unproven rookie. AD burned bridges. I can’t see how this changes anything except now NO isn’t completely screwed and can build around Tatum/Zion.

So does Davis stay in NO?

Now that they have Zion?  Thats the pitch right?  Zion might be a second super star.

Think Davis still wants to be traded. Zion is going to take time to develop.

Griffin will have to ask self: How do I build team around Zion? Tatum is obviously a good complement to his game. Obviously will take than that to get him.

Ya on the other hand I'm not sure a teenager as good as he might be changes AD's mind. And he kind of burned some bridges there with fans.

Davis being a Rich Paul guy and a UFA after next season throws the wrench. Do the Lakers wait it out and keep players?

Do the Knicks offer Knox, the 3 pick and the future 1's to the Pels?

Does he stay put?

Why? They’re still the same as last year, they added a rookie.

Or does he take Ball, Kuzma and Ingram plus the 4 pick from the Lakers?

Nope, and I can’t understand the logic of this convincing AD to stay.

Zion is way too overhyped. He’s basically Randle right now... AD isn’t waiting around for him to develop.

Knicks and Lakers have picks 3/4 in a 2man draft. If we want AD he’s ours. Ainge is probably pumping his fists as we speak.

I cannot imagine the Lakers wasting another year of LeBron just to watch him get worse. That would be very very wasteful. If LeBron gets another injury with no stars to lean on it could be a disaster for them
