AD won't be in NOLA next year. I feel comfortable in that now. He doesn't appear to care that much about the supermax.

The answer to the thread is, as many expected: no

The New Orleans Pelicans are now set up to be Zion Williamson’s franchise to lift, and No. 1 pick could ease potential trade of Anthony Davis. His stance on a trade has not changed, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Davis wants a new location (probably L.A.) and a star to play with (not sure which). The Pelicans could win 50 next season and he'd leave in FA. Barring a title, he's pretty much done there.

Wow not many teams can potentially lose a talent like AD and have a better team built for the future.

These odds make no sense, Phantom lol

Knicks are virtually out of the running now, as their only chance was to trade Zion. The Lakers' odds improved a bit, but they're still at tops like 5%, especially being 4th in a 3 player draft and having Ingram's injury issues happen after the trade deadline.

The more I think about it, the more I think the lottery just made it even more likely that AD is traded to Boston, as that would pretty much complete NOLA's rebuild in the matter of like two months through the draft and a trade. What would you rather do - risk keeping AD and having him walk this summer when things don't work out or have 7-9 years of control over Zion and Tatum moving forward, all while getting a few other lesser prospects and restocking their draft cupboard?

Exactly what I’ve been saying in the other threads. AD is a Celtic if they want him. Zion/Tatum will be a nice duo.

Nope, and I can’t understand the logic.

Zion is way too overhyped here. He’s basically Randle right now... AD isn’t waiting around for him to develop.

Knicks and Lakers have picks 3/4 in a 2man draft. If we want AD he’s ours. Ainge is probably pumping his fists as we speak.
Except I predict Zion will average 20-10 next year and a decent shot at the all star game.

Lol not even close. Zion is actually going to have a rough rookie year, I think. Dude is almost all athleticism and size and very little skill. That's going to be a huge adjustment when he realizes that he's not going against average human beings anymore but the biggest, fastest, and strongest athletes on the planet.

The only way he does come anywhere close to those numbers is by NOLA moving even more toward a fast tempo game, which isn't exactly consistent with having a talent like Davis. Now if they do make a Boston trade for something like Tatum, Williams, Rozier S&T/Smart and picks, then, yeah, sure, he can average those numbers as a primary option. But no way he averages that if they run the same NOLA team back with AD staying.
Try again.  The Pels were 2nd in pace this season and 1st in pace last season.

"moving EVEN MORE toward a fast tempo game" - try again.

NO would be all set if they trade with Boston. They will hold out for both Tatum and Brown though.

Zion, Tatum, Brown, and 3-4 future 1st round picks. They can even sign Rozier too.

Does Danny trade for AD without a commitment from Kyrie or if Kyrie decides to leave?

That would be a huge gamble and there wouldn't be much left to put around AD...plus I don't think he resigns with Boston without Kyrie

I think Ainge will have to know what Kyrie wants to do by draft night.

Agree.

Orleans getting the #1 pick helped the Celts.

The #1 pick plus all the assets they can get from the Celts will fast track the rebuild of the Pels.

True.

This blockbuster deal only has a lifespan of more or less a month.

If there's a deal then the Celts will be picking for Orleans.

But if there's no deal then the Celts will be picking players that they want.

AD to the Celts or not will be resolved sooner than later.
