The road back with @GordonHayward.

Coming soon.

Along with a short video of him dribbling and shooting jumpers and being out of breath.

He's looking really good. He may not be ready in time to play in the regular season, or even the 1st round, but keep in mind the 2nd round starts in 2 months.

He's not putting much stress on the ankle either - no lateral movement.  Still, it's great to see.

Good point Eddie.  More motivation for the team to go deep as possible.  Early exit not acceptable.

If he isn't back by the end of this month I don't see him coming back. To throw him out there in the middle of the playoffs seems like a very bad idea.

How is he looking "really good"? He didn't move two inches in that video. LOL.

Wasn't his ankle purple or something. That's immediate red flag that he should be shut down for the remainder of the season.

He's already jumping on his jumper and we know he's running on the alter G. More to like than not, after watching the video.

Why? What's the difference? If he plays like Joe Ingles during the playoffs, a player that can space the floor, pass the ball, and make all the right reads, that's a definite plus. I'm not calling him to play major minutes, but a couple of 5-8 minute stints a game could go a long way between winning and losing.

A few reasons:

(1) Breaking up the team’s rhythm
(2) Runs the risk of getting injured because he’s not mentally ready to adjust to the speed of play on BOTH ENDS of the floor.
(3) He’s signed for four more years

Not saying that he won’t come back, I’m just saying those are some reasons.

Honestly the thing about broken bones and sports is, one day it seemingly just clicks. I broke my leg and couldn’t do anything, then one day it was like an on switch was turned and I was (relatively) good to go. I could handle the pain. Until that switch happens, it’s all conjecture.

I agree with others that I don't see the reason to throw cold water on there being a small chance he makes an appearance deep in the playoffs. It is not like the posters here are his doctors and we have any say in the decision. I don't think anyone here is counting on it, just pointing out stuff like we are still 2 months away from the second round doesn't seem to hurt anything. Also, do people realize we are 3.5 months away from when the finals would start!

You don't think in 14 weeks there is a chance Hayward is in much better shape? It has actually only been 17 or 18 weeks since he hurt it!

Ya there's no way Hayward ' first game back will be a playoff game. They aren't going to throw him into a fame that really matters like that without knowing where he us mentally and conditioning qise, and u just can't know that untill you play a game. He may yet return, but if he isn't back by the end of the regular season he's staying out.

I think the staff can tell a lot in practice, mentally and physically. Plus they can test and measure his conditioning other ways, like a treadmill with sensors, etc. I see no reason why his first game back can't be a playoff game.

Because he’s very unlikely to be 100%.  Inherently, that makes him more of a re-injury risk.  Why risk that for 10 to 16 minutes worth of role player level play?

Wait, the 100% you're referring to is that health or game? That's a huge difference. I wouldn't want him playing unless he's 100% healthy. But if he's healthy, he's healthy. Just like George returned very late in the year and struggled to play at an all-star level, but was healthy enough to play.
