The road back with @GordonHayward.
Coming soon.
Along with a short video of him dribbling and shooting jumpers and being out of breath.
He's looking really good. He may not be ready in time to play in the regular season, or even the 1st round, but keep in mind the 2nd round starts in 2 months.
If he isn't back by the end of this month I don't see him coming back. To throw him out there in the middle of the playoffs seems like a very bad idea.
Why? What's the difference? If he plays like Joe Ingles during the playoffs, a player that can space the floor, pass the ball, and make all the right reads, that's a definite plus. I'm not calling him to play major minutes, but a couple of 5-8 minute stints a game could go a long way between winning and losing.
A few reasons:
(1) Breaking up the team’s rhythm
(2) Runs the risk of getting injured because he’s not mentally ready to adjust to the speed of play on BOTH ENDS of the floor.
(3) He’s signed for four more years
Not saying that he won’t come back, I’m just saying those are some reasons.
Honestly the thing about broken bones and sports is, one day it seemingly just clicks. I broke my leg and couldn’t do anything, then one day it was like an on switch was turned and I was (relatively) good to go. I could handle the pain. Until that switch happens, it’s all conjecture.
