  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Bring in Evans, and whoo, whoo!

Per Woj, he's signing with the Cs.

One year $5 million.

Curious what this means for Baynes / Theis playing time.

Pure matchup and who's hot,

Does Morris get more time off the bench as a SF now?

Wow. Solid pickup.

And Danny STILL managed to lowball him by only giving up $5 mill of the $8.4 we had to give. Way to not bid against ourselves as many teams would've done.

That lower price means two things primarily:

1) Danny will not be using his non-Bird rights as a major salary filler for next year’s off-season, which I always found dubious.

2) Danny has saved room to add more salary at the deadline while steering clear of the luxury tax.  Using the full $8.4 million would have left the Celtics with less than a million to work with under the tax.  Now they’ll have about $4.3 million.

I gotta assume that Tyreke is coming next (Baynes traded).

Starters: Kyrie, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Monroe/Smart (depending on matchup)
Reserves: Rozier, Morris, Theis, Evans, Monroe/Smart (depending on matchup)

When your 10th best player is Marcus Morris, the team looks stacked.

Monroe picks us!

Monroe will sign a one-year, $5M deal with Celtics, league sources tell ESPN. Pelicans could only offer $2.2M.

Nice pick up.  May be able to take CLE to 6 or 7 this year.

Remember when people in here were pleading for Danny to throw a Max deal at him but Danny went and signed Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko instead?

Now time to add a perimeter player for the bench
