3 things I would not give them: the Lakers pick, Tatum or Brown.

If Boston has to take Thomas back and he is going to miss most of the season, I would look to release him. No point in him taking up a roster spot knowing he cannot play. You know you are not resigning him. He really adds zero value to this team if he is really hurt.

It's called good will.   We can't treat employees like that.

You also have to do what is best for your team. Thomas has no future with the Boston Celtics if he cannot play this season. He does not figure into their long term plans. Him sitting on the bench all season in a nice suit being cheerleader is pointless.

Since when is he missing the whole season?

I think you are Fake Newsing here...

That is a 4-6 month recovery from that surgery...that puts him out through Feb. The alternative is him resting and resting losing more and more time. Bottom line is he will be out for a long time.

He has not even started running yet and camp is a month away

4-6 month recovery from a surgery.....he isn't having?

Sure thing bruh. Obviously the rest is doing it well seeing he cannot even run and camp is a month away.

And the fact Ainge said the injury had an impact on the trade, the fact he said he would not be ready to start the season. Everything looks great.

Sources: Teams have yet to talk, but #Celtics do not believe Isaiah Thomas will be cleared by a #Cavs physical, planning for more dialogue.

This smells to me like a new GM who is just trying to cut his teeth in the league puffed his chest out, made a trade that he is now getting cold feet on, and wants to play the medical card to get out of it.

Unfortunately they're not going to get out of it unless they want to burn their bridges with players, player agents, and management around the league.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Trade was a mistake from the start. Could care less if it gets voided and hope it does.
Thomas walks away for nothing at the end of the year? Small loss.
Recouping the BRK pick, huge win.
We weren't winning anything with Uncle Drew, I'm not buying he was going to resign so assuming he left in two year what's did we gain? Another ECF loss to Cleveland MAYBE two losses in the finals to the Dubs? This is the Celtics, Eastern Conference champion accolades don't get raised to the rafters.

Our window is 3-5 years out. Tatum, Brown, that Brooklyn pick, lakers pick and Memphis pick are our future and best chance to win a championship. We're not winning anything until the warriors ride off into the sunset.
Stay the course. Patience will virtue, follow the Warriors model, build within and the next Durant will come for pennies on the dollar just to get his ring.

This trade got us nothing but a bad rep in the league.

Nailed it. Horrible, horrible trade. Would be a huge win to get a Mulligan..

Dumping Thomas is a good thing. He is toast. Having to keep him means Boston is not getting out of the East and would struggle IMO getting to the ECF. I just do not have any faith in him or his hip.

That means Boston would need a PG for next season...not Rozier or Larkin...a legit PG. If you trade those lottery picks or if you draft, you have to replace Thomas' production.

Your posts are getting to the point where I hope that the deal goes through, LeBron gets hurt, and IT leads the Cavs past the Celtics without LeBron, earning an MVP on the way.

Oh please. I thank Thomas for his service and time here..but it is obvious he is not part of the long term plans. Taking him back sets Boston back.  I get you like Thomas but an injured IT does not help Boston.

I don't tweet either. But I'm not opposed to using google (www.google.com). If you type in Woj and IT in the aforementioned search engine, you will get generate "results". I'm going try it now, just to to see if this google machine works.

Oh boy, looks like there are multiple "results". The first one that I got was titled "Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) | Twitter". Now, while Twitter gives me anxiety, I'm going to try clicking on it. Hope it doesn't fry my machine.

Another success. Here is what I got:

Adrian Wojnarowski‏Verified account @wojespn  3m3 minutes ago

Sources: Cleveland's evaluation/conversation on status of Irving/Thomas deal has remained internal. So far, team hasn't re-engaged Boston.

This took me one minute to write this painfully sarcastic post, and it took me less than a minute to find the Woj quote.

But yeah, the OP was being lazy, not you....
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.
