Haynes: Not surprised if this was Cavaliers plan all along
Chris Haynes joins Early Edition to discuss the Irving-IT trade, and says he wouldn't be surprised if this was Cleveland's plan the whole time.

Yeah, teams will be lining up to make deals with Cleveland if this is the case.

'Hey, come trade with us. We will threaten to void a deal and hold it up for days unless you give us more. In addition, we will make the player(s) you are sending us absolutely hate and resent you if we actually follow through on the void.'

Great tactics!
Also imagine how IT feels not only toward the Celtics but maybe even more toward the Cavs, if he feels he's good to go. They're pretty much dragging him through the mud. I can't imagine how much he wants this resolves one way or another got to be nerve wracking for his family.

Cavs position looks more and more absurd

http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2017/08/kyrie_irving_trade_cavaliers_f.html

somehow i may be reading too much into it, seems like Cavs did the trade to try to screw the Celtics over by trying to find difference between physicals to make us look bad and to get more out of us

what a dump of a organization if that is true!

Lots of innuendo and speculation from the media without much actual facts being reported from both sides.  This might very well be the case of the media significantly blowing up the facts here and making an issue out of something that really wasn't an issue at all.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Eeehhh.  While I think the Cavs are trying to play a dirty game, I'm not sure that Bulpett would be the one to have the scoop on it.

I get the idea that both sides are trying to use the media to fight a battle of perception here.

So Thomas' injury is exactly what Boston said and knew about...that gives me a little bit of hope that IT is not hurt as bad as the cavs tried to make it. Hopefully he can play before Christmas

Yes this is renegotiation by media. Who knows what will happen but it seems Celtics to consider ALL options, including walking away completely from the trade.

I don't believe we are allowed to walk away from the trade unless Cleveland voids it.

You never know what's the truth and what is not, but, from what I've read so far it seems like the C's shared everything there is to know about IT's injury and its a difference of opinion between the C's doctor and the Cavs doctor about IT's recovery time.  You would have thought that the Cavs would have shared the medical info with their own doctor before mailing the trade.  Duh.

And common sense says that if you have full knowledge of medicals then make the trade, then you're stuck with the trade and can't back out.  I think most of us learned this in grade school.

Now, if you are too stupid to understand what the facts mean...that's on you.  I think, if the C's can prove they were forthright and honest and turned over everything relevant and its true its just a difference of "opinion" between the doctors, then the NBA to should tell the Cavs to shove it right up their asses.

I'm now convinced this is what happened:

1. Danny negotiates and conveys all the information he has about IT's hip;
2. Cavs agree to trade with full knowledge of the risks/concerns;
3. Lebron contacts management and expresses delight in playing with IT;
4. GM says "well...IT has a bad hip and might be substantially diminished next year";
5. Lebron freaks out..."What!?!?! I didn't know that? You have to go back and get more from them!";
6. Cavs management puts out announcement that IT is hurt and they're seeking more, knowing full well it's nonsense, to placate Lebron.

In other things, this is a farce with an audience of one, like 95% of everything that happens in Cleveland.

I don't believe we are allowed to walk away from the trade unless Cleveland voids it.

We can "take it or leave it" with them if they try to get more out of it, which may end up being the same as walking away.

I think CLE can still walk on this and just say IT didn't pass the physical.  I don't believe that they have to prove to the Celtics or the NBA that they have good reason for this.

I think if CLE was going to rescind, they would have done so already but who knows.  They could still be wringing their hands over this.

That's what I'm convinced it is, too.

Or unless we failed Kyrie on his physical.

Replace "LeBron" with "Dan Gilbert."
