Maybe we are including more salary and the brooklyn first to include Gobert?
Utah isn't trading Gobert. No way, no how.

if the Celtics sign and traded Crowder and Jackson to the Jazz after releasing Mickey and stashing Yabuselle then they could sign a free agent prior to the Jazz sign and trade transaction to the tune of about $6,254,691 in the first year. If we traded Crowder to other team for no salary we could sign a free agent for $5,338,691 in the first year and then sign Hayward as a free agent, i think the celtics are looking to make another minor free agent

Are enough for Dedmon?

Can deadmon play? Wasnt he bench in the playoffs?
That was just Popovich having one of his weird moments where he puts a player in the doghouse for no apparent reason (he's done it before).

Dedmon is terrific. He can be a better version of Tristan Thompson given the opportunity.

I doubt they would give up Gobert, unless its for a 1st. either Brooklyn's or LAL.

Wouldn't that be a coup??? Hayward and Gobert will make us EC favorites.
although Hayward and Favors might be more likely.

Yeah I know. Not happening, but wouldn't that be a shocker of a breaking news deal. All this grumbling about losing crowder for nothing vs trying to get something, then it turns out they were negotiating with massive pieces like gobert, brooklyn 1st, etc.

Sounds like Crowder is a goner to Utah. Wonder what they get back in return

Just so people are aware, Ainge doesn't need to make a trade to fit Hayward.  He could simply stretch Smart, and that, combined with releasing Mickey and stashing Yabusele (or renouncing him) would be sufficient.  And Smart wouldn't clear waivers, so there'd be no long-term detriment to the cap.

Ainge will get something for one of them, because he doesn't need to make a trade.  He needs to clear one off the roster, but trading isn't the only method.

Then the Knicks will give us Porzingis for Rozier.

I would like to get Favors back. His contract expires next year. 1 yr rental

I don't think we can take Favors back because his salary doubles Crowder. We cna take a guy that is less than Crowder as long as it's within a certain % I think. Someone like Bradley or Exum.

Good trade but we'd have to add some 2nd round picks... :)

People can get off of the Jazz trading Gobert.  he is the new face of their franchise and is worth at top 5 pick.  He's a stud rim protector.  I know it's nice to fantasize about getting a guy like Gobert but it's not happening.

I would not be surprised on Exum.  He hasn't exactly lived up to expectations and is on the summer league roster.  Hood would shock me since he is pegged to be their go to scorer next season.  I imagine it would have to be a pick coming back to Boston that has protections on it until 2019-2020.  I still wish the C's could pry a big off of Sactown.  They have lot and just drafted Giles.

I don't get the front page article's contention that trading Crowder is a curious move. It makes perfect sense.

Crowder doesn't add much value once you factor in Hayward and the young guys. He's an ok defender whose only real offense is spot up shooting. More importantly, Crowder will not handle a reduced role very well, especially not for Hayward. IMO, Crowder would have to go even if salaries were a complete non-issue.

That we're trading him first instead of the two guys on short contracts peaks volumes.

Man, I hope the unclear detail is us getting at least a wst round pick from Utah as well.

It would be really disappointing if we just let Crowder go for nothing.
