if the Celtics sign and traded Crowder and Jackson to the Jazz after releasing Mickey and stashing Yabuselle then they could sign a free agent prior to the Jazz sign and trade transaction to the tune of about $6,254,691 in the first year. If we traded Crowder to other team for no salary we could sign a free agent for $5,338,691 in the first year and then sign Hayward as a free agent, i think the celtics are looking to make another minor free agent

Are enough for Dedmon?

Can deadmon play? Wasnt he bench in the playoffs?

Dedmon, by the numbers, is one of the best defensive Centers in the league last season.

I don't know why he was being benched in the Playoffs during that Spurs run, maybe it's a matchup thing the Spurs want to do, but Dedmon is really good on the defensive end.

Trading him today for a better player at his position would be mean

Has to be more to it, even if it's just a future pick.

And it's going to be interesting to see Danny's next move, because short of starting Tatum at the 4 or starting Zizic with Horford at the 4 (neither of which is optimal), without Crowder there's literally no person for us to start there at this point.

Again, we are not getting nothing in a sign and trade of Crowder.  We are getting Gordon Hayward, which would not be possible without shedding salary.  DA is up against it.  We should just be happy if the Celts do not have to give up additional assets to shed salary.

And Crowder is on a good deal.  But he's a JAG.  A bench guy on a contending team.  We don't have to cry about losing a guy like that (as much as i appreciate what he's done for the team).

Jae Crowder is listed as 6'6" (which means 6'5" in real life) with a 6'9" wingspan. He's not a leaper nor is he tremendously quick - his only plus physical attribute is strength. That doesn't cut it at the 4 spot in today's NBA or any other NBA.

It looks like the Crowder to Utah deal is about to happen. I will gladly take Exum or Tony Bradley back since we aren't giving Crowder away.

Poor Utah LOL

This^^^.

would love Favors. I remember when he was considered untouchable when he was drafted by the Nets. I'd love for the C's to get him, if only for 1 year.

The problem is that a rotation player for a contender on a team-friendly deal should fetch something even if the Celtics have no leverage. Teams would still be competing with each other to acquire him, so it's not like the lack of leverage should lead to us getting nothing. I'd take a pick that's protected in a manner that makes it unlikely to be more than a future second over nothing.
