Find a trade for Crowder NOW. Package Crowder and a pick for Faried.

Renounce KO

How does trading JC's contract ($6.8 million) for Faried's $12 million fix a salary cap issue?

Why not trade AB and Rozier for a PF. Then play Hayward at the 2. Depth would look better keeping Crowder long term.

IT, Hayward, Crowder, x, Horford
Smart, Brown, Tatum, Theis, Zizic

AB is one of Ainge fav player

He is not going anywhere imo
AB is leaving in FA anyways.

As observed in the playoffs, Rozier is our best rebounder. We can't trade him.

Crowder needs to go to a team that can absorb his contract and send back a pick or a young big on a rookie contract.

My best guess is that AB goes. Celts can't retain both him + Smart in addition to IT next year.

But if I'm Ainge, I'm trying to make a multi-purpose deal: shed salary *and* bring in a quality young big man.

Pacers to Boston: Myles Turner
Boston to Pacers: Brown, Lakers/Kings pick, Rozier.

Boston would now need a series of transactions to create cap space for Gordon Hayward. The Celtics would have to pull the qualifying offer on Kelly Olynyk, renounce free agents Jonas Jerebko, James Young, Gerald Green and waive the contracts of Jordan Mickey and Demetrius Jackson (or trade). The Celtics would be left with $27.6M in room and likely need to move the contract of Terry Rozier or Marcus Smart. Trading Rozier would have the Celtics short $1M of a max salary a lot.

you can't be serious. That would be a horrendous trade. Why would we give someone an elite prospect in the Lakers pick AND brown? Myles turner isn't good enough for 2 players like that

I read that a sign and trade or another trade is holding up the deal.

Good, keep making moves.

Crowder + Bradley for Faried works, and clears 2.6M salary

If it's a sign and trade then Utah is lying because obviously they would need to know about it.

If could be working out the players involved or another trade. Getting the commitment from Hayward started other things in motion. They can't announce it because it's contingent upon other pieces.

I'm good with all of that, would prefer to keep Smart over Rozier if I had to choose.

Yeah, all of this with Rozier gone. This may actually be the roster consolidating move that Danny has wanted/needed for a while. I like this skeleton of a roster:

IT4 (may be gone soon)/Smart
Bradley (may be gone soon)
Hayward/Brown
Tatum/Yabu/Theis
Horford/Zizic

They have a solid 10 and could add some of the 2nd rounders. I think they could still use an Andrew Bogut type player.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I like Turner, but not that much. I don't think I'd want to trade Jaylen straight up for him, let alone your proposal.

I think Turner is a guy that Indy wants to keep.

Yikes. We look bad at the 4 and 5 and lose a bunch of guard depth or "free up the log jam" I guess. Relying on Yabu, Zizic, and Theis would be hoping for a lot. I could see us taking a step back next year with that roster.

edit: I didn't see anything about Crowder so I'll assume he's still on the team in this scenario.
