Apparently Danny has already contacted some people about Smart. It'd really surprise me if Smart went over AB, though, since Smart projects to cost much less next year and can run the second unit.
If I'm getting rid of a player, then to me it's Smart by a wide margin.  Worst player of the bunch.  And salaries are irrelevant since we'll have to get salary back in all likelihood.
How the **** are salaries irrelevant?

We can't afford to pay 3 maxes and a near max.

Plus AB makes 3.5 mil more than Marcus extending the range of contracts we could take back ina. Deal
Im going to play out next year with the best possible roster.  After that, we can worry about who we're paying etc.  Marcus smart is a throwaway player.  Sure, he'll likely make a lot less than AB.  But that's because he sucks.  What good does it do to keep a player that sucks?

I can promise you Danny Ainge isn't gonna wait a year to "worry about who we are paying"

If he moves Marcus and then is unable to resign AB next year then he has made a big mistake.

If Crowder is moved, how much cap space would we have?  How does mid level contracts work?

That does absolutely nothing to respond to the ridiculous idea that "salaries are irrelevant"

Celtics also signed that Theis PF

but I doubt he will be much better or even at the same level as Jerebko

It would be really nice to somehow get Noel .... but how?

Danny should have drafted Jordan Bell when he had the chance

this team needs an athletic PF that will do the dirty work.  Bell is like a more explosive Amir Johnson.  Celts have a good level of offensive firepower already

Why?  Because we lost Marcus smart?  I'm not losing any sleep over that.

But you're right, I'm sure Danny has it figur d out.  And if it involves trading smart, then maybe he's thinking like I'm thinking.  At least I hope so.

Resign JJ and let Crowder go. JJ can play PF at times. You ahve to let Tatum and Brown start to develop. AB and Smart bring us great defense.

Depends on what we get back.  Default is the salary cap doesn't change at all.

Why worry about Crowder's contract when you have Hayward, Tatum and Brown for the next 3 years. You have to move him.

Ordinarily I think you're nuts but this is what I am thinking as well.  I hope we're right.

My prediction: Crowder is traded for a 1st rounder and some player with an ungauranteed contract. Best case scenario here.

Worry about Crowder's contract? No, worry about IT+AB+Smart's contracts, which are about to expire. Those guys are all getting paid, but we can't pay them all.
