I'll admit, I'm feeling a lot more uneasy about our chances of landing Hayward amidst the hail storm that occurred last night in the NBA landscape.
So lets prepare for worst, say we don't get Hayward (bummer). Want to take any chances on these 2nd tier FA's or trade targets? (Or 1st tier FA that are a little past their primes)
KEEP IN MIND: This is the LAST YEAR the C's have of any max cap space for a long time (unless they straight up trade Horford, which is unlikely and frankly, a bit foolish right now), so Ainge will want to do SOMETHING, even if it's just a moderate upgrade somewhere. So even if we do nothing at all, we won't have max space to pursue a star next year. Frankly, I could see most of the 2018 FA's either re-signing with current teams w/extensions anyways, as it seems to happen under the new CBA. So the list of potential stars available could swindle as next season rolls around.
OH and I DID NOT INCLUDE the likes of JaMychal Green or Nerlens Noel here, mainly because they are RFA and I don't think we will waste our times with them since it seems VERY LIKELY Memphis and Dallas will keep them, and giving them near max or max would honestly be foolish.
