Oladipo was their second leading scorer and Sabonis was a lottery pick last year.  Give them away and have Paul leave after one year?  Yeah, that will sting for a long time.

It is well worth the risk for them.  They're at risk of losing Westbrook after next season and Oladipo and Sabonis aren't going to get him to stay.

the bold. Only way I would have wanted to trade for PG would be 1) if Hayward were already on board and 2) if we could extend him before we traded for him. I'm happy DA didnt spend a penny to get some guy who's dead set on being a laker.
